Shhhh, but dd is possibly going to school tomorrow morning. Real school. Live school. In person school. She is totally different from just 24 hours ago. She even did some maths prep! But it depends on the night... And the morning...
F0xh0les, I'm not sure why I'm not a mess on the floor, really! The first major hosp visit was when she was 4 1/2 and had terrible diarrhea, sent home from school, which eventually turned into pooing blood. Eek! Me? I called dh who was doing the PA at church, to come home and take us in. Twonk! But this was when we discovered she was coeliac, so it ended up being a good thing. After that, I vowed I'd call an ambulance the next time if he wasn't around... And yes, we've had the paramedics round and taken her in. Dh was out again, of course. Other times, we've driven. Hmm, that may make it sound like a lot of visits to a+e. I think we've done about 6 others... Some abdominal shenanigans of one sort of another, one broken collar bone...
She has been weighed and measured and prodded and poked and had bloods taken at least yearly since she was 5, so hospitals are familiar to us!
Karma, yes we have a label: corpus luteum. Perfectly normal it seems, but w1k1pedia and Mr g00gle were no help in explaining the reason behind the sheer amount of PAIN she's been in. We were talking about following it up but now that it is subsiding more, we feel okay to wait and see if it recurs. That's what dd wants to do too.
Me? I've been to work and had a lovely day keeping away from twerps and stoopid eejits. (Autocorrect changed that to 'remote'!?!?!) My y9 class earned a kah00t and requested one on chemical bonding, as they had a test on that the next lesson. Awesome. Have also done a y10 parents eve online, and one child has already expressed a wish to take the subject at A level. Awesome again.
Must get dd to bed soon. It has to be early enough not to deprive her of sleep, yet late enough for her to be able to get to sleep...

    I spoke too soon!
But dd is doing online learning, with a plan to return in person tomorrow...
So I am pottering along not getting in the way...
And I even managed to complete a kettlebell workout before waking dd. Just as well, as I couldn't be exercising now!

Inspired by all those clever bods out there who are up to date with all their banking and accounts of this that and t'other, I have finally paid some extra money into dd's CTF . Go me B) I even had to phone them cos I got muddled, and I hate making phone calls.
And on Thursday I plan to stop off on the way home from work and pay a cheque (autocorrect suggested QUENCH - what?!?!?!) into her nwide acc - can't do it online as it is a passbook account.
As we have basically paid off the mortgage and our pensions look like being sufficient for our needs, then I figure we might as well ring fence some pennies for dd.
Talking of which (whom?), she did have ibu after getting up, but has been fine since. Defo ready to return to the place of learning tomorrow. Yay! Phew!

The quench was nearly drenched, waiting for about 10mins to get inside! But tis done and dd has a few more pennies in her account.
Dd has had a good couple of days back, but is really really really tired. However, she is even doing bits of hwk. Result. Dosing her up with meds before bed and before school seems to be working.
Had a chat with her GP this afternoon about what to do if the pain returns, which hospital to go to, what to keep a note of, possible gynae involvement, possible course of action if needed- a really good conversation.
I got permission from my Head to do a CPD day from home next week (the sessions are all done remotely, so I'm stumped as to why she is insisting everyone should be in the building...), and the dep head did my mid-year appraisal review this morning in about 7 mins. Must be a record!
There are 2 more teachers with new jobs to go to. There's a lot of change coming...

There's a lot of change coming...

That there surely is!  The primary school DS4 is at has already lost the head to planned retirement in the first 2 months of the pandemic - she flat out refused to stay in post until they could fill it, so the deputy head stepped up, he has just announced he is taking early retirement at the start of the summer holiday (final salary pension scheme anyone?).   I think lots of teachers are going to be heading out the door.
DS3 (yr 8) is being taught nearly entirely by agency supply  or PE teachers. None of whom have the right subject specialisms.  Only Maths and French seem to have the proper staff. He is not enjoying school at all.  I think the unhappiness of the teaching staff is communicating itself to the kids.
