We spent last night in a+e. Ugh. We're actually on the children's ward. Got to the room around midnight, then had multiple checks and wotnots through the night. Ugh.Basically they can't find a cause of the pain and did not want us going home unless we could manage the pain. Which we can't. She's on max doses of paracet and ibu plus buscopan to try and stop or at least ease the waves of severe pain. And it is only just taking the edge off it.She had an ultrasound at 2. Still awaiting someone to tell us about it.Probably here another night. After that, who knows?Dh is going back and forth, clothes, food (I do get bfast, but twas a measly small pack of gf cornflakes with milk). Dd did eat her gf cornflakes. But she'll not touch anything else. And we can't swap being with her due to the restrictions.Anyhow, that prob doesn't make much coherent sense. She is a mystery to the medics.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

I must add that I am extremely grateful for the medical staff looking after Dd, for Dh shouldering the leg work, for free NHS WiFi, for the rugby. We have a tiny telly with a very grainy picture from the 80s, anf channels 1-5. But it is free and Dd enjoyed Tinkerbell this morning.

Oh Apple! Poor you, poor DD, poor DH - what a nightmare! And for her to be in such pain
that must be awful to be with. Here's hoping they figure it out. Something easy to sort like appendicitis. And the covid restrictions affecting what you can do, good grief. I hope you all get some sleep tonight.

Oh you poor thing! Give our love to dd, for all it is worth
Hope they figure it out soon and she is in less pain. I can only imagine what it is like for you, I birthed mine in a hospital and I went home, never been back for a single night! Planning on keeping it that way. I would be demented by lunchtime. Well done for holding it together. Wish I was of any use whatsover. Hugs, and thinking of you. x

Thank you all of you.The ultrasound drew a blank. I think they called someone in just to do it - wow!And late evening, the gynae person arrived and we were v pleased it was a woman. She had her mobile scanner thingy so we saw dd's innards again. I had no idea what was on the screen, but gynae expert lady did! She was v thorough, and came up with a probable cause of the pain and why there were waves of it too. She had come to us specially, cos it would have been a wait of several days otherwise. Then we got sent home by a very determined lady at 10 pm. No painkillers, nowt. We did feel steamrollered out, esp as we had settled down for the night... Not impressed with her; everyone else was just so lovely. So, dh came and got us. He probably did 4 trips back and forth all told, as well as 'working' at church to enable a z00m thingy linking us, the usa and pakistan! Fortunately, church was just a couple of miles from the hospital, as opposed to home, which is 5+.So, we all slept well and I checked dd at 9 , she was just waking up. So she went through without waking -phew. Yes, she has pain, but isn't writhing with it yet. Need to find an open chemists for drugs...And the pain may take several more days to go, so she'll not be at school for a bit. Thank goodness they have an integrated guided home learning set up, for when she feels able to join.Ooph!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

The steamrollering really doesn't sound good, what a pity that woman marred the care you'd experienced. The rest sounds as good as it can be, though, and it sounds like you have a way through. Thank you for finding a way to tell us what's going on while still respecting DD's privacy.2023: the year I get to buy a car3

apple_muncher said:I was overly cautious re the buses today, and was at work by 7.25! But it was a beautifully smooth and stress free journey, so it was well worth it. Coming home, I alternated jogging and running to get back to the bus stop (1.2m) and managed to catch the bus that brings me mostly home - to just a mile away. Dd/dh had messaged me to offer to collect me, so I was chauffeured home for the last few mins.Dh had had the car today, for dd to get to the orthodontist and back to school in time for her counselling session.School was good, got some important decisions made. Also got accused of backstabbing by someone who I'd cc'd in an email about not leaving the class windows open overnight. Not quite sure how openly including them in the email, along with a personal note to them saying that I thought it might be them, but it might not be, constitutes stabbing in the back. But there you go. Someone to keep away from for a while...3
