  • So 'children are behind the rising demand for virus tests', eh? Except this defines 'children' as under 20 years old. Hang on a cotton pickin' minute.... Aren't they classed as 'adults' at 18? And don't parents have to arrange the test for school-age pupils? And isn't it just possible that now they are all mixing and generally sharing germs, then coughs and colds are bound to abound?  And who wants their child to miss another 14 days of school? And didn't they consider this a possibility and get ready? Like when the students are all back at uni and mingling...there might just possibly be more tests needed...

Off out soon. At least it is sunny. Clothing for dd (and maybe me) from m+s and topshop(?), and a visit to the skater shop too. Dh is coming along for the fun of it. I am totally not feeling the love this morning...and would like to curl up in bed again. Sigh...

I need to find some dino material for masks.  I know I have a lot of cat material :)
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • The skateboard shop no longer exists. And that really wobbled dd's equilibrium. Understandably.
We'd done m+s first and got her some school shoes. She chose some 'boy' ones - the 'girl' ones either had a stoopidly thin sole or a heel of some sort - so gender stereotyped, sigh. No suitable underwear anywhere, but we'll order that online. We did find a gorgeous black velvety dress for dd and a Winnie the Pooh top for gs2. Then I got myself some much-needed nix, bikini bottoms and work trousers that were reduced to £9. They fit nicely too. Result.
No topshop visit,  but we did get chalk paint from wilk0, so can get started one day on refurbing our wardrobe up-and-over thingy.
And dd and I nipped to aldee to get a needlefelting kit for her friend's bday + another lot (4 balls) of the teal wool for the knitted thingy I'll make her - I didn't want to run out!
I confess that we have had the heating on! Tis decidedly chilly and damp here.

  • Karma - if you havean aldee, they currently have a bundle of fat squares where 1 of the squares is dino.

Thanks apple :) I think I'm going to be stern with myself and not do that (plus aldee is in the next town, and I don't use public transport any more).  I also have horse fabric.  Penguins?  So much, I can't justify buying more

A well deserved smug face, methinks - especially if that's also 'so far' - more is still to come?
