Sounds lovely and active ... as for the test centre, I can't even ....
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • It has been a beautiful day, weatherwise. Just as well, as I was able to sit in the park while dd danced, then sit near the skatepark while dd + friend skated then walked around leaving me with 3 boards to guard!
Unfortunately, just 10 metres from the house, dd fell off and has a nasty scraped shin that will be colourful tomorrow. At least she had trousers on, so it is a clean nasty scrape...

Re the circuit breaker, I'm coming round to the idea as I glean a little more info. It is about shutting down the pubs/restos/etc. (And not schools) Cos people simply can't be sensible. Thoughtful. Law-abiding, even. If I catch it, then it won't be because of me doing silly things thatput me in harm's way. It will be pure bad 'luck'.  But why didn't they reduce, eg, opening hours at the start?? Did they really think that imbibing alcohol made people more likely to keep their distance from each other...?

  • Dd's scrape isn't as bruised as I expected - phew.
But her anxiety levels have soared, along with a very sore throat. She doesn't want to do school, but not doing school would mean that she has to stay home alone. And she's not done more than a couple of hours alone so far. (I'm out 7-5.30; dh has to help with some interviews and would defo be out 8.30-2.30 minimum)
Off to wake her and see how the throat is. I'd like her to go to school and pootle through the day, but not really at the expense of her MH... tricky...

Such a day to day balancing act you need to do ... hope she feels better this morning.

  • Thank, karma. When I went in to wake her, I realised that school was not going to happen! She did try being at home, and I rang her at 10.45 and 12.45. By which time, she wasn't coping any more. So I okayed it to leave work, set work for my class and headed home. A lovely colleague is looking after them as I type (she only had a few, I had a few too, so mine are working in the back of her room). And dd is much better now that someone else is at home - better in that she is coping ok and even thinking about going to school tomorrow... We shall see!

Ah, it's so hard when they first start being left alone. Hope she's feeling physically better today as well x

  • Dd managed school - all of it, including a before-school and a lunch time club. I went with her, and walked to collect her at the end. She is so much better than yesterday.
On the other hand, I have been sooo tired and weary, having caught her bugs. I even had a snooze on the sofa this morning, so apologies to Poirot cos I wasn't really paying attention...
France have said that a school group will only need to isolate now if there are 3 confirmed cases. I guess they've had to shut too many groups down for comfort...Wonder when the ruling will change here... I really do hope that we can stay open (no cases yet - phew) as the uncertainty is hard for the kids.

  • The fence men are due tomorrow. Yay!
Dd enjoyed her swim class today and I did a light session at the gym. Still super weary, but better than yesterday.

  • Showers.
Showers is what the forecast says.
Showers is not how I would describe the pelting heavy rain we are currently experiencing!!!

  • The fence men came and have done a lovely job for us. They'll now quote for replacing/sorting our guttering and adding a downpipe for us. Front and back. And the dad of one of them is a roofer so he'll come and look at the roof issues and give us a quote too.
Took myself to the gym again - I'm still very tired but decided to try to keep going, and it is working thus far...
Tomorrow I've booked in to a yoga session/class thingy, which I'm looking forward to. I've not kept up very well with the 30 days with Adriene yoga. Not sure why, as I really like her style and approach. The class is 'free' with my gym membership, so it's worth a go.
Toddled along to aldee with dd after school and got a dinosaur book for gs1 and some mixed fat squares that include one with a dino pattern, so I'll make him a dino mask. Also got some teal-ish wool to knit something for dd. She bought a needlefelting dogs kit - with her own money :).
