I tried giving up chocolate for Lent one year - failed miserably - my bday falls in it :D

Doing the opposite with clothing with my Nan now she's in a home - she's shrinking and is now really a size 8, but prefers things loose at a size 10!

Hope the knee, wrist and shoulder aren't too sore today xx

Mum did shrink at the start, from a 16 to a 12/14, and we were rather concerned. But she is back up to 16 ish again!

I didn't ache too much through the day - one of my y10s asked me why I was strapping up that arm again. So I replied that I fell over during freeze tag as my brain thought I was 12 but my body couldn't keep up. I love doing the self-mocking thing with them, as I reckon it enables them to laugh at themselves more. And I don't mind it when they try to mock me too -within reason, of course - I do try to keep some semblance of order...

But since I got home, oooh the aches have settled in. I have also eaten stupid sugar, which I know makes my hands hurt, especially when there is rain in the air. Doh to my gluttony!

I'll not be running back from the counsellor tomorrow, unless I make a very speedy overnight recovery.

So I need to get back OFF the sugar wagon. And, yikes! have just realised that Lent starts on weds. 2 more sleeps. Chocolate has to go.

Dd went though the bag of items given to us yesterday, and is only keeping about 4 items. But we have filled 2 bags to take to the sally army.

    Tomorrow:
    -headspace
    -school run
    -counsellor
    -return dd library books
-pay cash in the dd savings
-sell rings dh gave me to sell a couple of years ago (oooh, I'm quick!)
-sainz shop to make most of 5x points for £20+ spend (gf/df nuggets, gf/df bread, gf flours (as liddle seem to have stopped doing them, and they cost 2/3 of sainz ones)...
    -epsom salts bath

That'll all be done by lunch time, so I'll have to think of something else...

Nearly all done - just a bath to have once the water has heated up enough.

The rings were worth... £10. Woohoo! Met dh for a coffee, which was good, as we have to talk toeach other!. Have tentatively sorted dates for the next 2 visits to see mum and booked the flat for the first one this Friday.

I have just found £112 in a purse. :D I think it must be from Cmas craft fairs. I have used some of it to put in a thank you for the friends who fed us on sunday and let us walk off with a stash of syl fam stuff. Dd has also added some of her money.

I also have the £10 from the rings, which dh said I could have :D and I may use it to buy the TRAIN magazine for when I go to see mum.

I also have £15 from the friends who we went with to the pottery painting place, as they insisted on paying me back for dd. It was a battle thry assured me I would lose, so I've taken the money but will be spending it on some nice food items - from aldee of course - to give them a bagful of goodies.

Off now to take dd swimming. I had a lovely long soak earlier so am not going in.

    Ash Weds today.

    Sugar free thus far.

Builder friend came round to discuss the fence with dh. Hopefully done in a couple of weeks, then I can plant in/up my fruity plants in soil instead if pots...

Have taken £10 out of the £2 jar, to pay for compost tomorrow. Otherwise I'll repay myself from the jar and then forget why I have so many £2 coins in my purse and put them in the jar...

We are very fortunate to be able to get to both aldee and liddle easily. Their prices are almost the same, but their stock is slightly different. Liddle does us for v1tal1te, dried mango, cottage cheese (the aldee stuff goes off before its bb date - has happened fequently so we no longer buy it from them) plus other bits. And aldee is within walking distance so is our main place. Not sure why I'm saying all this...

Today I got 2 mahoosive bags of compost. For £3.98. And I've already planted up the bare rooted rasps in pots (it was that or nothing until the fence is done...) and got around to potting up the blueberries too. The only bit of rain we've had here came down whilst I was outside!

Took 2 bags to SA and didn't stay to look around. Dh went to town to buy a new rotary airer from w1lko and also didn't stay to mooch. :D

Work is all done for the week and tomorrow I'm off to see the hygienist and mum.

I should have rung the home before setting out as when I arrived, there was a note on the door saying that they are closed to visitors. D+V so it's unlikely they'll be open tomorrow, though I'll ring them in the morning. I did consider turning around and going home but the thought of another 4 hours of travelling and hitting rush hours traffic, and after a chat with dh, I decided to stay over.

I hope to ring them quite early tomorrow so if they are still closed, I can get home earlier.

A quiet evening ahead. I have a book, a magazine and my tablet, so am all set for entertainment!

A bug of some sort. Big sis reckons it's the winter novovirus(sp?). So I'd reckon on them waiting 48hrs after the last occurrence before opening again. She rang them this evening and they've not been told to open for the weekend. But they've not been told not to either...

The plan to call them in the morning still stands!
