Thank you for all the well wishes. Shame about snot having so few financial qualities...

I have spent my day off in bed. I had thought I would be downstairs with the telly on, knitting. Oooh no. I have been in my own bed, dozing for a couple of hours, then half watching a poirot. I have made an effort to drink copious amounts of water, leading to many trips to the kitchen to refill the glass, and just as many trips to the bathroom ... Over 3000 steps shows how much refilling of the glass and emptying of the bladder happened!

This evening, dh made me a 'hot toddy' but just with whisky, honey and hot water. I forced it down, then felt awful from the sudden shot of alcohol! It's also made me much snottier and made my sinuses hurt. Won't be doing that again anytime soon.

Have to go to work tomorrow as colleague has arranged a theatre company to come in and I'm needed. Will go armed with balm tissues, tablets and water. I only teach 3 lessons but 2 of them are allocated as prepping the classes for the theatre people socannotbe missed! Am hoping I can claim the extra half day I'll be there for...

The day went well. Phew. My classes were v accommodating of my inability to raise my voice. I di 2 duties so had plenty of walking around time outside, which did me good. And the theatre people were excellent.

    Glad to be home!

    Planning December.

Have written the NST December challenge, which I'll not re-post here as it's super long.

So far, I have noted that I'll be at work for 6 days and not at work for the other 25. A nice balance!

Ooph. Done for the week. Enjoyed my classes. But happy to leave them behind for a few days.

Snot is now greenish. Yuk. Dd has a day off tomorrow and we are going swimming. Let's hope I don't sneeze in the pool...:rotfl:

  • I didn't sneeze in the pool :T. Tho I am still producing much green mucus. We had a good chat with the chap on the pool reception about dd's level and classes, and we feel happy that we know enough to look out for a class in jan.

Then dd and I had a super lazy day. She made another syl fam dress; I made 7 mice. I fed us and we both enjoyed Poirot.

I have had a 2% payrise :j. So that has gone straight to the mortgage of course.

Can't quite get my head around tomorrow being december! We have only had 1 proper frost here, and dd and I are mostly barefoot in the house and as sockless as poss outside. We want snow!

Inspired by one of you lovely mse-ers, I have started a '19 projects before 2019'. It is a sort of a to do list, but I feel that they are all do-able within the month -tho I still need 3 more to reach 19... I'm sure they'll make themselves known.

Dd is off to the posh school tomorrow afternoon. And when I collect her, we'll come back via the local lights - possibly even stopping off in c0sta if it's not dark enough by then. She has homework to do in the morning, so we'll try to intersperse it with dressmaking again.

Dd enjoyed the school, as I knew she would. And we walked back through the lights, so that's got that done! They were worth seeing but prob not worth a super special outing.

Finished dd's hat off with a pompom, so she's happy. One of the hats I'd made for one of the chaps is looking rather girly, so I'll give that elsewhere and have started on a proper man hat!

Sent an email to all at my place of work suggesting that we don't send cards to each other, but donate to the Sally Army Cmas appeal.

Dd's sch sent out a reminder about lost property, so in about a fortnight, I'll go and empty the box and sort into recyc and ch shop.

Her sch are also collecting food items to treat the elderly this cmas, so I'll be getting some items for them this week.

Got 8 items for the foodbank - 2 each of soya milk, uht milk, tampons, toothbrushes - as that was all I could carry this time. I wonder if in Jan, foodbanks run short as people feel that they did their bit in Dec? I am very grateful never to have been anywhere near needing to use one.

Made a little progress on some of my '19 before '19' lists, so I am feeling smug. Just as well that today wasn't an NSD as I would have been unbearably smug and everyone would have needed to avoid me until I sorted myself out...!

Tomorrow we are skipping church (and dodging those thunderbolts :rotfl:), but going to help set up a joint church event THAT HAS AN ICE RINK :j. And where dd will continue to make her fortune and I'll have a stall for my own crafting. Dh can ice skate so he'll be in charge of taking dd on the rink. I too can skate. But I can't stop without the help of another body or the side... So I am NOT in charge of dd on the ice...

Dd had three goes at skating and was thoroughly impressed with herself! She had a fantastic time there. (On the downside, she sold nothing, and I only sold £4.50 worth of things.)

Have a busy week ahead. Am trying to plan ahead whilst still savouring each day. It seems to be a case of allocating things to their time slot, and getting them done. Work will get in the way, pesky employment (you know, teaching, marking, planning, mentoring, duties, meetings... - at least, that's the stuff I know will happen!). And the theatre company are back in on weds, lengthening my day again. My sch fair is on fri, so I need to get all my stuff there on the days that I go to work as that is when I have the car. On fri, dh will have the motor so that he can bring dd along after her school finishes. And I need to take in my secret santa (got a Polar Express bell today - yay! - but not wrapped it yet.) And buy nice goodies for old people for the collection at dd's sch (tues after counselling?). And dbil is staying over on thurs. And I want to get into town to look at the T1ger candles - if they are still 2 for £1, then I'm buying a gazillion as gifts as they are gorrrrjuss. And find mum something for cmas. And maybe get some hyacinths off the market... Might slot this in on fri onmy way to the fair on the bus.... Or sat am when dd has a nativity rehearsal at ch - if dh is also there doing the sound, then this would be good.

See? Savouring the moment is tricky! But I have my clothes and food ready for tomorrow, and that is all I can do for now.

Although I could wrap the bell and get that in to work tomorrow. Along with the Sally Army tin. And craft stuff. And my usual school items...

Am off to read fiction as per dec in the tardis!

Sooo, I did wrap the bell, and my secret santa is in the pile ready for the end of term.

    Sally Army tin went in.

And a spanish mag from the summer for a colleague.

And 1 bag + 1 small stackerbox of crafted items.

I'm tilly tidying another knitted hat (ie a few rows at a time) as the other one was too girly.

    Tomorrow:
    -sch run
    -counselling
    -lots of walking
-buy nice foodie items from aldee for OAPs
-check to see if foodbank box has been emptied (it was chocka full today)
-shoulder exercises (still no proper exercise as breathing is still a tad laborious)
    -marking and test prep
-work on my 19 before 19 list
    -expenses
    -hat knitting
-book somewhere to stay when seeing mum as the flat isn't available

    Tomorrow:
-sch run done the am one
    -counselling done
-lots of walking oh yes, esp compared with recently
-buy nice foodie items from aldee for OAPs done - need to stop dh snaffling them
-check to see if foodbank box has been emptied (it was chocka full today) done - and it was empty so I put 8 more items in
-shoulder exercises (still no proper exercise as breathing is still a tad laborious)
    -marking and test prep
-work on my 19 before 19 list done a little; nothing else completed yet
    -expenses
-hat knitting ongoing as I can't do much at once
-book somewhere to stay when seeing mum as the flat isn't available may just go for a flying visit instead, tho dh has suggested staying in a hotel!

    So far, so good.

It felt like I had used up all my energy after sch run + counselling + walking + foodbank + aldee shop, but lunch seems to have perked me up a bit.

So I did a little sorting out of the garden and some stuff off my 19 list. Then sat down with Cadfael!

I told dd that I'd go and meet her from school today - she usually walks home herself but is v tired and weepy at the mo. And we'll start to empty the lost prop box.

I hope you are making more progress with your 19 list than I am with mine!

I love Cadfael, I've read all the books. Actually, I quite fancy reading them again now :)
