Feminine hygiene products to the foodbank. Bought bacon and much-reduced gf df choc for dd (and ibu for dh and 85% choc for me).
Aldee was heaving; sainz was sooo quiet.
Online esafety training done; report for head okayed by colleague; off to work soon to piggyback on some of aforementioned colleague's other online training - am taking some sewing up to do as it is only listening!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
2nd cafe visit done and dusted. Much better weather! Much noisier group - grrr.
Report sent in.
Training yesterday just showed me how much I already know - it was about the summer exams and it was pleasing to realise that I am fully up to date with it all.
Post-visits feedback mostly completed.
So, 2 lovely free lunches this week (thank you CR!) albeit with a lot of kiddies in tow. Great to spend time with them outside the classroom.
NSDs going well.
Marking is multiplying - so much so that I had to bring some home to do an hour. I lost both my free periods this week (1 cover, 1 on the trip) plus working an extra 3 hours today (unpaid, of course!) for today's trip has meant that the marking is lagging behind in the priority stakes. Can't stay behind tomorrow to do it as I have to leave the citadel by 3pm as I'm going to visit mum. So it had to come home with me. But it is done now.
Now to turn my thoughts to what to take away with me. I usually take some crafting, but I'm more or less unable to do that this time as it's mostly sewing machine stuff left to do... And I aint lugging the machine on the train :rotfl:.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
A lovely day at work. Thoroughly enjoyed myself. And I got my marking up to date.
Then home to change and pack and dh dropped me at the stn. A smooth journey. It is really mild here - I had to take off my jacket!
Mum was quite mellow. Talked a lot about her childhood home and her mum and dad. And she was happy to wave me off from her doorway. Of course, a nanosecond later, she could have been in floods of tears.... She really wears her emotions on her sleeve - it is how the illness has affected her. Some emotions linger more than others. The negative ones are particularly stubborn little blighters...
Plenty of steps today.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Another mellow time with mum, talking about her childhood home. Then skipping down the road for my various trains.
Had found £1 in the flat, so put that in my pocket along with my usual coins for homeless guys I see. It was decidedly nippier and so I have decided to get hold of some thermal socks to give them next time I go there. Am also knitting them some hats. Am writing it here really to make myself accountable. I am often overwhelmed by their situation and end up doing nothing; this time I want to do what I have thought of doing.
Off shoe shopping for dd tomorrow. The cheap aldee shoes haven't lasted more than a few weeks and although they were 1/3 the cost of emeness ones, at least those ones last much longer.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Emeness provided exactly the shoes that dd wanted :j.
Sp0rts d1rect provided a new cossie for her. Her old one had a droopy bottom and the straps were v loose and needed pulling up frequently. Not a good look:rotfl:!
The £ emporium provided thermal gloves + socks, plus 3 small gifts for other people.
We have a secret santa at work and the upper limit is £10. That seems rather a lot to me. I'd much rather have a small amount - like £3.50- so it'd be more fun...
Wore socks and my walking shoes today, after months of wearing sandals or my vibrams. It was soooo good to go back to barefoot once I was home.
5 bunnies are now clothed. 6 more have clothes cut out for them, leaving one naked bunny .
I have started on the first hat.
Thoroughly enjoyed Wales v Tonga- great fun to watch. Scotland v S Africa was also good. Though what were Scotland wearing?! It looked like thousand-wash grey to me...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Dd has finally gone down with a snotty cold. She's been under the weather and a tad fragile for a while, so I'm hoping that this is why.
The physio really got into my shoulder joint and it is a smidgen sore now. I guess that means he earned his money!
Spent an eye-watering amount (for us) in sainz, and used a 3x points voucher. 2x the small g&b choc packs = 12. One for mum, one for another. A stoooopid amount on vegan cheeses. One she likes, another by the same company, and a 3rd random.... Then the usual - 2x bread, 2x nuggets, 1x pizza bases, 3x nakd bars, gf/df ice cream, ice cream lollies and cornettos. And pouf! over £50 gorn up in smoke. Never to be seen again...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Kept dd off school today but she had to go out in the hail/rain/wind, as she had an interview. The ca1po1 did its stuff and she performed well. But hasn't managed much since! She's talking about going to sch tomorrow, and I can always collect her at lunch time.
It's meant that I've spent nowt - but not got much done either...
6 more bunnies are clothed. Just 7 HK heads to sew up and put faces onNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hope the interview went well, and dd is on the mend soon.15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Thank you earthie - she is so much better now. They were out and about to a localish museum today, re WWII, and she's been raving about it since getting home!
A good day at work has been had. I have really enjoyed my classes this week. Although I am still ultra pleased to get to Thurs lunchtime and be finished for the week...
Have spent a really stupid amount on food this week. Sainz 50+ stock up on gf/df + 2x chocs,with3x points. Liddle to use a 5 off 40 voucher. And 10 in icyland to qualify for a free 5 soonish. Sigh.
Hat knitting is going well. Second hat is two thirds knitted. But they both need sewing up and pompoms. Gotta have pompoms!
My secret santa at work is getting The Polar express dvd (£1) and popcorn (£1) so far. And I'm thinking of knitting her a hat - with pompoms! Also want to get a bell, like in the film.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
I have done a workout! Go me. It's been a while.
May go to local cmas lights switch on this evening if dd wants to.
Am nearly ready for tomorrow's craft fair.
Now to make a gf df lemon drizzle cake to take with.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
