One of my students is the one I've been mentoring, so I am doubly proud of him! He got a 9 in history and had a totally smug face on - deservedly so.

Today has been rather a lazy day. Dd slept for 11 and a half hours again. She'd not obviously tired or ill, so I dunno what it is...

I woke with hurting hands, elbows, toes, feet. Even before I got up! Due to yesterday's full caff coffee in pr3t, even though I only drank half of it. Anyhow, I did my zcut kb #3 workout for 18 mins, though I used the 8k kb all the way through this time.

I have done some washing, cutting out, sewing, reading. We watched the 3nd half of swallows and amazons. I've cut the lawn, played with compost, done some admin.

    Steps are paltry. Oops!

Woke up this morning to discover that somebody had turned the thermostat up to 19 and the heating was blasting out. Well, somebody else has now returned the thermostat to its rightful place
    at 16...

We're definitely still in the 'put on a cardigan/ jumper/ dressing gown/ pair of socks' stage - after all, it's still August and therefore still Summer and therefore all heating is banned! :D (You can definitely feel Autumn trying her hardest to creep in around the edges on an evening now, though....)

I have our heating turned off at that time of year - no thermostat temperature 'mistakes' on that basis - as no-one else except me knows how to turn it back on!! :D:D

  • Apple muncher your thermostat issue reminds me of my in laws tug of war with their thermostat. My MIL will have it turned up quite high, her husband will sneakily turn it down and then she will turn it up again this goes on throughout the winter. My OH even gets roped into as in when they go away she leaves it on about 20 c and My OH is given strict orders by his dad to go and turn it down to about 12 c. The night before they are due back he has to go back in and turn it up so she doesn't know its been altered.

    So far, a great day.

I found a charity shop that would take the 4 spare duvets and bed linen that we have here - women's refuge. So we prioritised 'things for the ch shop' gathering and took a carful.

And we might have had a little look around... A shirt for mum for £1; jeans for dd 75p, 2 shirts for dd £2.50, jamas for me £2, a top for me £1 (origianlly bought with mum in mind, but once we saw her we realised that it was far too small for her), a book for dd on ballet £1.50. Some sy1van1an figures for £3.50 and a lalaloopsy thing (dd id'd it for me) for £3. Dh got some dvds for himself. All bargains.

Then a flying visit to mum, which went well.

And then ... lunch. We were very ready for it!

And we are home. Phew. There was a very nasty accident on the m25 which stopped the traffic in both directions so that the air ambulance could land. We were stationary for 30mins, but aren't complaining.

We have come home with much more than I expected. Sigh. And oops! Yet we took another carful to the ch shop today...

So, the solicitor has my bank details. The EA has the keys. All is set for a new owner.

Dh is working tomorrow and dd has a playdate - her little friend will certainly see the house at its 'worst'!
