I found the recipe for shampoo and conditioner that I've been hunting for for aaaaaages.
Shampoo: 1 tsp bicarb in 1 cup water
Conditioner: 1tbsp apple cider vinegar in 1 cup water
I plan to move to using this over the summer break, as skanky hair is ok when not at work!
Also made more face/body scrub the other day as I'd finally used it all up: 1/2 cup oil + 1 cup salt. I didn't use the big grained salt in it this time - just the smaller ones. Don't need to scrape 5 layers of skin off every time I use it!
At work, trying to get tidied up.... :rotfl:. I got started then got distracted earlier on by needing to shift furniture around. So I now have another pile to tidy up and file away. Hmmmm. Do need to do some serious labelling of hanging files - sooooooooo tedious and fiddly. But would save me time in the long run as I would then know what was in the file. All I know at the mo is that it is NOT what it says it is! That's a job for later when i'm in the room....
However, I have sorted 1 fat file and been throught the post - all of it went in the bin! :T
The sun is shining and all is peaceful - till the lesson change arrives and I go off to educate some young minds...
Need to clear space in big cupboard so that I can actually put files away. Especially the ones I don't use very often. Oh well - another job to do before I can do my list! Priority for today? Label them pesky files.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Well done for getting the exams behind you A*M ... good to know the hump of the term's done with.
I don't blame you for plotting and planning to get rid of that irksome figure, I think I'd be doing the same. Hard to know where else savings can come from though when you have the family to consider ... I know there are things I would do to just blast the mortgage that would have Mr Hbbb asserting his full human rights in protest against!
Well done with the present budget, I'm looking closely at this over the next month or so as this years one for some big birthdays and I'm not sure it's manageable in the normal way, so I might have to get inventive ... trouble is many of my family are starting to get that glazed look of horror look every time I present them with yet another knitted gift! :rotfl: might have to explore some other talents.
Happy weekend! x

Alcohol makes my face itch! Have only had a few sips of fizzy, but am now scratching my face off! So that's why I don't drink it!
Thank you for popping in, Habi. Do hope you make the reunion tomorrow ok. Do you have a fold up sick bucket to take with you? Or just a handy paper bag...?
The presents are working thus far as I reckon this is the first time I've seriously re-gifted and been so frugal. But I'm also allowing new buys, and it's fun trying to find the right thing for a price I'm prepared to pay. That also means I am thinking long and hard about people, and putting ideas into the shopping basket to peruse it another day. And I usually then hit the 'delete' button!
Acquired 3 pairs of trousers today, using Sally Army credit. Also got dd 7 factual books that'll be useful over the next few years. She loves stories but is starting to find information books are interesting too. Her level of reading astounds me at times!
Have done more moderating, which is satisfying. Twas a 'problem centre' so required more moderating + paperwork than normal. But I'll be paid a few pennies more for it.one more piece of paperwork to do for them, then they're done and dusted. I currently have 2 more centres ready to start, and would live to complete them this weekend...
But dd has a hectic social life to lead! First tap, then a pizza party, then home to change and round next door for 3 hours. They've got a bouncy castle that completely fills the tiny garden. Those girls will LOVE it! I can't leave dd at party 1, as it involves food, so is tricky. But party 2 should give me time to work. Unfortunately the forecast is for a downpour at 3pm. Party starts at 2....
And I was going to get an early night tonight... Ie before 10.30pm! So off I'll trot and read my book for a few mins.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Have taken dd to tap then a pizza party - where we were so well taken care of. Dd can now add pizza to her food lists! Albeit one just brushed with olive oil and with mozarella on top. This is a huge step forward for her. :j.
Then home and a quick change before going next door for another party! The downpour that was forecast - 13mm worth - hasn't materialised, which is a big relief as they have a bouncy castle filling the garden. Anyhow, dd has come home 1 hour early - the noise of 12 screaming (with enjoyment) girls has been too much for her. She wants to go back later once everyone has gone home, and have a quiet bounce!
I have issued a challenge/competition to my work colleagues - just the ladies, mind. To give me £2, their name + weight on tues, then again 45 days later on sports day. The one who loses the highest % of their bodyweight wins half the money, the rest going to charity. We'll see who joins in with me!
Have done another centre and most of their paperwork. So, still to do are 4 lots of feedback forms, plus another centre + their feedback form. By the end of the weekend. Will see how much I can do tonight in 1 hour.
Have done ZWOW 8: 6x 10 fore and back squat jumps, 10 weighted (25lb sandbag) dragon lunge, 10 plank cross-body toe touch with jump up, 10 each side side plank leg lift. Ooph! Took me 17mins 16.
Nabbed an NSD despite being out and about :T.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Got another centre started but need to do more as their marks and mine differ greatly! Also, couldn't do feedbavk forms. Grrr.
And dd had a big upset and just wasn't coping, so by 9.15 I was in bed with her. 2 parties is too much for her. I know most kiddies sail through loud events, but this one gets in a right pickle, poor thing. So she 'slept' in with us and was extremely restless. However, she's still in the land of nod, which is good news.
She has another party in 2 weeks time, and I'm tempted to suggest she doesn't go, as it will definitely be another super loud and chaotic one...she survives the parties but it's the fallout afterwards that takes a lot of sorting out.
Anyhow, depending on when she wakes up, and what she feels like doing, we'll either make it to church or not! Not would suit me nicely!
Today's tasks include:
- washing duvet covers once dd is off them! DONE
- ironing stuff for work DONE
- exercise
- spellings READ ALOUD!
- make dd a lavender bag (thanks to hbbb:D) DONE
- wash up DONE
- sweep DONE 1/2
- marking/feedbacking STARTED BUT WILL DO MORE NOW DD IS NEXT DOOR
- check out amaz0n for clog-style shoes DONE BUT NEED TO GO TO A PROPER SHOP TO TRY ON FOR SIZE AND FEEL
Hmmm. Off to put on another pot of coffe - yep, was one of those nights and browse footwear...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Am sitting with dd to help her get to sleep. She has a rotten cough and has had various meds throughout the day.
I've had a very quiet day. We moved the furniture around for her to make a 'den' this morning and then stuffed and sewed up a lavender bag which now lives in her jama pocket, being thrust almost up her nose regularly.
I got some more paperwork and moderating done, which was good. It feels as if there is sooo much to do with it. If omly centres would send me everything they were supposed to ! First time around. With no subsequent need for polite emails requesting the rest.
Tomorrow's a busy day with teaching and observing interviewees and then being on homework club after school. At least it's in the computer room so I can always while the time away on mse stuff!
Tuesday will have to be wholeheartedly devoted to moderating and pesky paperworking. Oh, and shopping, washing, exercising, etc!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

What a weekend A*M ... poor old DD, bless her, great news about the pizza but no so much about the parties, poor kid! Not a lot you can do about that is there, parties do tend to be an all or nothing thing! So glad she has something sweet and calming to sniff on x
Thank you yes, I did make it ... it wasn't a massive reunion and at least 5 of us have had sick bucket episodes in front of each other at sneaky drinkie teenage parties of yesterday-year, and later on morning sickness for some of us (not associated events, I hasten to add) so it probably would have been like old times if I had! but thankfully I didn't!
Speaking of which, your poor face and the itching. I've had no alcohol for about 9 days because I'm starting to think I'm getting an intolerance to it (or it of me) ... do you think yours is a similar reaction?

Hello Habi,
Glad your reunion went well. Sounds good to still be in touch with people this far down the line. Also sounds very good that your tum held out...
Dd loves her lavender bag and reckons that the combination of Olbas Oil and lavender is the best thing ever. (I'd say since sliced bread but she can't do that as it's gluten-containing!!!)
Getting to sleep is an issue again. It was all going so well then she broke her collarbone back in Feb and we're back to lots of TLC. It won't last for ever - it'll stop by the time she's 21... 25...?!?
Anyway, here I am in the computer room, doing my homework club duty. Such fun! The interview proceedure went well - at least, my bit of it did!
I've had a few colleagues join me in the 45 days to Sports Day challenge. 50 would have been a rounder number, but I hadn't thought of it that long ago!! Must put out a reminder this evening for anyone else who wants to join us.
No exercise today tho may make about 7 or 8 thousand steps.
My week's personal challenges over on Fmess's thread are:
- eat 6+ VEG daily
- do 4 lycra-worthy exercise sessions :j
- consume NO added sugar
- be in bed by 10pm every day :A
Will need to do a comprehansive 'to do' list for tomorrow, broken down into small bits that I can achieve quickly amongst the bigger chunks. That is a task for tonight when I'm sitting with dd! Dh is going out (as i'd withdrawn from a meeting - dd needs me, so no contest!) so a peaceful evening ahead....NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Ps - the alcohol and the itching and definitely connected! I reckon it's the sugar content in the fizzy wine. It's an almost immediate reaction to it, coupled with redness. Not a good look! It also gives me a sugar high and crash very quickly - really isn't worth the bother, eh?NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Well, dd surprised me last night by going to sleep by 8.30! This meant I was able to get more work done than anticipated. Result.
And I forewent my morning dose of mse to do more today, and finished off another centre. So I've added another one to the list!
Today's list includes:
- school runs
- exercise
- aldee
- sains
- bank
- wash up
- another centre
- feedback
- feedback
- feedback
- feedback
- hoover stairs
- sweep
- make soup
- make choc cookies
- spellings with dd
- knitting? Only if the rest gets done...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
