I am free, no obs happened today, thurs is prepared for the cover teachers. Out of my hands now.
Dd and I wrote a list of issues yesterday and I hope to be able to see her teacher today. She has not been able to get herself to sleep for the last 2 nights, so has been in with us as she has been so upset. Which means we have had rotten nights, although she has slept well herself.
And tomorrow I head off to 'mum-sit' for 2 nights.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

What a morning! Is it really 3.30 already?
Heard on the news about a tram turning over - no idea how. It has caused loss of life and many injuries. It was at 6.30 this morning. Thank goodness it wasn't later when they are packed full of workers and school children.
The knock-on effect on traffic going the way I was going was massive. The bus tookover 30 mins to do 1mile. So I got offto walk thenext 2.5 miles to the station. In pouring rain. Went past2 sets of roadworks with traffic lights with only 1/4mile between them. Ridiculous. I overtook 3 buses, 2 of which then overtook me, but they were not picking people up atthe stops. My original bus went past me as I crossed the road to the station, so I reckon I won!
Then, there were no Bedford trains so nowt to St Panncras, so I went via Victoria and usedthe tube.
Amazingly, I caught a train just 20mins after the one I had planned to catch.
Then it stopped at Milton K to check a defect that had been reported. No defect was found, so we trundled on, 20mins late.
Eventually I met up with big sis and she passed on notes and tips and headed north.
Phew.
Now watching the 2016 World's Strongest Man from Norway, loving the snow. And relaxing a little.
Had a v gd meet with dd's teacher yesterday, which helped put dd's mind at rest a bit.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Great news about being so close to mortgage neutral. What a fab way to end the year.
Hope all is going ok with your mum.

Back from a couple of days with mum, to give big sis a break. Mum needs 24/7 care, and falls apart and panics if no one is around.
Mum has opted to have radiotherapy, which will be a long, hard slog and then the exhaustion from the treatment kicking in plus an awful lot of travel.
The interment of dad's ashes has been brought forwards to next Tuesday. Initially, it seems that I cannot be there but I do need to seriously mull it over and discuss with dh. Reasons not to go: I am working that morning and have only just returned to work after 6 weeks signed off + it is at 10am which is a time that is too early for me to make. Reasons to go: big sis is very worn out both physically and emotionally and needs all the support she can get + when I returned to work, I told them that we would need to inter the ashes at some point sosurely I could request 'leave of absence' + we have a car and I drive, so although it would not be ideal, I could always leave v early and drive up.
Whatever I decide, I must then not feel guilty about the decison. I personally do not feel a need to be there for myself, I know that mum will forget if I was there or not, it boils down to big sis, I guess.
I'm due to go up thurs/fri anyway - the interment was due to be the fri and a lovely friend is driving me and also helping with cleaning/clearing dad's house. Would I then do that as well???
Sorry to just dump my thoughts on here.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
After setting it down on here, and then talking to dh, a decision has been reached. And then big sis emailed and her email confirmed the decision. Good. So, I am not going on Tues, but am going th/fri and will sleepover at mum's so big sis gets a small break.
Today it is raining and looks set to continue for most of the day. Dd has dance and I shall accompany her with my knitting. I think it will be an indoor day.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
I'm glad you have come to a decision and it is all agreed
