  • Sounds like a good choice. It is super hard to know where they are after a week or more...I don't know about your school but my experience is cover work is rarely delivered accurately anyway.

I have written a polite email.

And printed out a gazillion emails that needed doing - even got my highlighters out on them!

It would be a lie to say that I am not nervous/a little anxious about going back. I do wish that it had been possible to talk to the head/deputy before returning, not on the day of return, and then have to teach the morning... But that is how it is. I have my own notes, and will have to take notes of what is said as I find it so hard to retain things at the moment.

A nice walk out to the library with dd and dh today, and a visit to a charity shop is on the cards for this afternoon - we have 2 big bags to take today, then possibly 2 more for tomorrow.

Woken at 4.40 by people walking past and talking. Then at 6.20 the binmen arrived with their lorry that reverses beepily and their big wheelie bins to collect the rubbish from the flats opposite. Then at 6.58 dd's alarm clock went off again. And at 7.00 the Lalaloopsy app on her tablet did its morning fanfare. I got up soon afterwards!

2 more bags to the Sally Army place and £4 credit. Then on to Sbux for cheap coffee + soy hot choc.

Our local newsagent provided a much sought - after copy of T0p model mag for dd, and we have set up a monthly reservation. For free! Online subs were £48 and more, for a £2.99 mag. So we have saved £12.12 over 12 months. It will be dd's main Cmas present, though on the day, I somehow don't think that her selfless 'I don't want much this year' will be a phrase to repeat back to her...

Some rugby watched, albeit league... Sewing up of 9 gingerbreadmen done. dd and dh are off down the road later to see a firework display. Entry is only £3 each, but it is attached to a fair, so I think they want you to spend your money there...

I went to the fair and fireworks too! It was awesome. We spent the entrance fee again on dd: bungee trampoline, candyfloss and a bottle of water. A great time was had by all, and it was very local so we walked. It has made for a late night, so it suits us that the clocks go back.

Off to peruse mse bits and bobs, as dd isn't yet soundly asleep...

After an extremely quiet day, I am extremely nervous about tomorrow. Thankfully dd only goes back on Tues, so I only have myself to deal with. That will be more than enough, I'm sure.

    Thank you everybody!

I ended up crying on the head, but at least that set the tone right from the start. She listened really well and helped me feel I could cope and that I have her support. I got to mention that we shall be interring the ashes soon, and are looking for a home as well as trying to get a dementia diagnosis. By the by, the teaching was fine, although I was v glad to finish at lunchtime.

Dd is off to a Just a Treat party soon, and I am off to physio (££) and Icyland where I'll spend £15 to start me on the way to the 'free' £5 in dec.

Tomorrow I shall be going for a long walk - I have missed them.

glad you have the support at work.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
