We had another good day at the house yesterday.
Lovely friend finished the kitchen (minus the floor) and bathroom, the banisters and light switches, and lots of upstairs.
I did more sorting and binning, of course, bringing the totals for the visit up to: 13 bin bags of rubbish and 9 of paper recyc and 6 of rags. Almost forgot the 6 bags for the charity shop!
I binned the manky rugs in he hall and replaced with new ones I found -just little 'sample' carpet squares really, mainly to go over the 2 cables to the electric rads. Yep, it was super chilly in the house! Especially if you stopped moving for long...
My next visit must involve a car, to take the bags away. Then I can start all over again...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Plenty of nice rugby to watch today. Especially nice as there is no strongman on at the weekends. Not that I'm a telly addict or anything...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Thank you greent. When we first started, dh suggested having a box to put in the things we wanted to keep. He struggled to comprehend that there was ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE to put one unless one of us stood there holding it! What a difference now. We have reached the point where it is easier to see progress. Not that there isn't a heck of a lot still to do... And we will always have to go through every single bit, as the nuggets and special bits are very well hidden! No chance of us getting in a house clearance company. And we probably need to do it ourselves in order to work through some of our own issues..,NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Yes - clearing my dad's (very cluttered - the spare room literally floor to ceiling throughout filled with stuff - the door was able to open just enough to squeeze through and reach the initial items (couldn't get in the room) was cathartic for me, definitely. Not all issues were worked through at the time, but dealing with the things then helped deal with thoughts and feelings both then and afterwards xI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200

My first 'full' week completed. I am tired out.
I saw a counsellor today, only for 20mins as I had to go and teach, so she hasn't had the full story yet... Will go back next week.
I have a craft afternoon at church on Sat, which I am looking forward to, as it is low-key and an enjoyable time, regardless of whether I sell anything or not.
Mum has had 7/15 radiotherapy sessions, so tomorrow takes her over the half-way point.
The step-kids are all spending Christmas in Canada together (guaranteed snow sports!) So we need to be organised enough to send their presents out with dss. Dh is on the case.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Well done on the first week. That is a milestone for sure.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
A very tiring milestone! Must remember to do it all again next week...
We have had a craft afternoon at church today, where I had a table. The atmosphere was absolutely lovely and plenty of people came along. I made £85.50 which is awesome. There are a few gaps that need filling, as the items were popular, so that is a good focus for the next 12 days (my school fair in 9 days; a church craft evening 4 days later)
Dd wishes to drop mini musical theatre and re-start tap (the French = les claquettes, so onomatopaeic (sp?)). We'll see...
Big sis is managing to tick over with mum. 8/15 radio sessions completed.
Mortgage interest for October was £1.15. Very nice.
Just 4 weeks + 1 day till Christmas. It will be the usual quiet one.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
