Indeedy, pearla!
Used the car to drop off dd's prescription, then go to sainz and then on to aldee.
Dd only went to school with the compromise that I would come along at the start of lunch and bring her home. Eek! At 11, her class teacher called to say that she had agreed to stay all day. Phew.
It has taken me nearly 3 hours to upload 3 centre's marks and pack them to send to the respective addresses. What a relief to have also taken them down to the PO. Now for lunch and am wondering if I can face another speaking centre...
First, food!
ps: no packing done yet!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Let's just say that I had to spend about £90 on extra clothes and fleece blankets as we were sooooo cold, and that the event finished almost a day early as extreme wind and thunderstorms were on the way specifically to our camp site !
But instead of driving the three and a half hours home, leaving at 9pm last night, dd and I had a meltdown each and stayed at an extortionate price at the nearby premier inn place. (Dh is still up there, packing the event down and coming home tomorrow - we hardly saw him there as he was mega busy 24/7). Anyhow, we had a gentle start to the morning - and I had 4 cups of my super strong coffee - and made it home in 3 hours.
Dd is still in her coat, on a fleece blanket, with another one folded over her, watching utube clips. And I have whacked the heating on for an hour.
That said, we did quite enjoy ourselves really!
And all that moneysaving done in May was obviously saving up for this weekend!
Now, got to work out how to dry out the humungous tent, groundsheet and 2 inner compartments... with the doors already being used for the sleeping bags and the bannister is the only hanging area left... Hmmm. Groundsheet first methinks...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
:rotfl: Sounds like a weekend to remember!
Hurrah for previous MS coming to the rescue
I would have been straight in that P Inn tooa penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library0 -

Ooooh! Not goodHope you are all drying out and warming up nicely now. I like camping - but only in decent weather - and you can never guarantee that in the UK

Thank you one and all
. We have warmed up nicely, the heating has been on, and dd has had a nice warm bath and is wearing her winter jamas.
Next time, we shall be much better prepared!
Groundsheet is dry, and one inner bit will be done overnight. T'other one tomorrow, plus outer tent, chairs + beds all need a good airing to ensure they are not damp.
And now that we are back in civilisation, dd wants to go to c0sta!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
How did May pan out?
The overwhelming memory is being poorly!
23 NSDs, but dh did the shopping instead of me. I only did one charity shop visit before being poorly.
My bank statement for the month is so short! It consists of the usual dd/so outgoings plus my overpayments to the mortgage, and 3 cash withdrawals. (The spending when camping hasn't gone through yet...)
We didn't need to put any fuel in the car, so that will need doing in June.
I should be able to pay another wad off the mortgage once everything has cleared.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
And what is planned for June?
NST June challenge:
-20 NSDs
-Pay to debt/savings first
-Budget everything for the month
-Use up (random) foods in the cupboards
-Batch cook
-No cafes etc
-Use own brands when shopping
-Only £5 on beauty products
-Try to eat a big frog
-Combat overwhelmedness
-Enjoy life and blossom, slow down and do something that makes me happy every day.
June = 14 days off and 16 days at work. This week is half term; next week is our internal test week; the following week is enrichment week (where I am taking a day trip to France), then 2 'proper' weeks take me to the end of the month. But new gcse specs start in sept so need to do some massive prep for that.
Moderating and marking deadlines are 11th and 12 June, so I need to get stuck back into that now and finish it all off.
Not expecting or planning much exercise at all as I still feel quite weak. If I do any, it will probably be Bunny Slope ones again.
4 birthdays to buy for (so far...) all between 5-8 June.
1 school summer fair (mine) on the 25th.
Dh comes home today, so I'll need to do the washing up!
And this is the last month of working 4 days a week :jNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Well, dd and I headed off to c0sta, but didn't go in - result.
We went to 3 ch shops and spent £17ish: 4 books, a dvd, a Po11y pocket race track, a onesie and a compartmentalised lunch box for dd, a basket for my fairs, and 4 tops for me. Not bad.
Dd has spent the afternoon playing with the race track(after I built it and replaced the batteries for the ever-so-noisy escalator thingy), and has agreed to get rid of her hot wheelz bits now, so that she can use that box.
I have spent a lot of time avoiding my moderation! My head still isn't in the right place for it, so have been doing a little marking instead. I really should sort my head out...
2 washes done and both inner tents dried and folded. Once I can shift some washing off the bannister, I can drape the outer tent over it. At least I am making progress here.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
