Ha ha. The 'must wake up in time' nearly didn't happen. I turned to look at the time, to see how much snuggle time was left, and found it was past getting up time, as the alarm was still set for 8... Phew! At least dh hadn't left without saying goodbye and left me in the land of nod...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Awesome ZWOW workout: 3mins of overhead squats (these are sooo hard, I can't even keep my arms straight when I do them!) with a 5k db; then 10mins of 3 burpee on the minute followed by weighted (10k) walking lunges for the rest of the minute. Ooph.
By the by, I wore my lycra leggings and top and was surprised just how flabby I am - definitely not rocking the look!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
I have just used the last 45mins in the way I planned: sewing up bunny arms (8) and attaching monster eyes (4), and pinning bodies together in readiness for machining up (5). Satisfying. (And it is now the 18th and my January tally is stuck at 14 so Ineeeto catch up!
Ooh - what with tomorrow being a parents evening that starts at 5pm, I could take in stuff and craft for an hour beforehand... Or go for a long walk... Or do a shorter walk and do some cutting out... Need to make a decision...!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
I had the loveliest parents evening last night - year 9, even.
And I was home in time to go and meet dd and dh coming back from brownies, so had some time with dd before bed.
Had half an interesting chat with dh about future stuff. 'Half' becaus it was late, so was more about throwing a few ideas out than decision-making.
If we get ourselves organised and do a proper soa, then we'll be able to work out the total monthly outgoings (dd, so, fixed quarterly/6-monthly stuff). And therefore be able to work out how long we can last before dipping in to the savings. Obvious stuff.
And my 2018 MFW goal will have to shift.
I reckon I'll have to set the ball rolling and do most of the soa then get dh to check it...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Good luck with the planning!
We're the same way - I have to do the legwork and then DH is fine with having the end-result conversation of "does it sound reasonable to have X set aside for Y thing?" - if I asked him to figure out X (or even Y thing
) it wouldn't happen. (To be fair, it might, but only after several days/weeks of reminding him.) He geeks out over tv/films, I geek out over personal finances...to each their own.

I do all the leg work too :mad::mad:
But when it comes to the conflab after, I loose him after one sentence, so left to myself really:D
Only down side is he often turns round after a few months declaring he has no knowledge of what I am talking about and how I "don't tell him anything" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Debt Free Diary - Second Chances! Life in a Tourer........Debt free, building a savings pot0 -
I have been through the bank statements for the last 12 months (the joy of online banking!) And listed the outgoings. The pcm amount is surprisingly small, although I do not think I have missed anything out.
Various items can be cancelled completely or amended right down.
My bank account would not need amending really, as it covers food, dd's activities, ch shop stuff... and I invariably scoop all the surplus over to the mortgage at the end of the month. The difference will be that the monies go into the offset savings instead.
We have tentatively agreed to bring the mortgage payment right down as a SO, but can scoop monies over at the month's end.
This will mean that dh will - hopefully - not feel too pressurised to take any old job. He will certainly be taking over the dd 'duties', which will ease things up for both her and me tremendously.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Note to add: my pcm figures include nowt for hols, bdays, Cmas, emergencies...!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
