Dd has had an excellent day, including skype-ing her big sister in canada.

I got on top of more paperwork at work, then ran round ...11... charity shops lookiny for a specific cardi for dd, all to no avail. We may have to resort to shortening/adapting one of mine...

Finally got a whites wash done - I got it ready to go in 2 days ago...

Acquired a workout top + pair of work trousers for 99p each. Bargains.

-another aldee shop for party food
-tidy downstairs
-write a party prep list
-acquire cakes - think m&s do a lemon gf one, so 2 cakes =number 8, but this requires 3 buses each way in the opp dirction from everything else!
-write reports
-hoover

-relax?

Ss has suggested meeting up for lunch on sat; big sis is coming down with niece fri night; sis will visit her mil onsat and may stay over there, so niece will stay here. But who is where at lunchtime, or even where lunch is is a mystery! And I have a party to sort out for sun + get dd to and from dance on sat morn + kids klub on sun.

All too much for my poor brain to consider...

M&S cakes are quite nice - work got a chocolate one and a coffee/walnut one for my birthday. Quite a few co-workers commented (in surprise) at how nice they were - have kept telling them that g/f baked goods are a whole different animal compared to g/f bread.

A good day. Over 16k steps. Quality time with HUTH and my knitting. Also some quality time with dd .

Big sis due around 9.30, so am hoping dd will be asleep by then...

Ss + gf coming for breakfast at 9 tomorrow, which is good, and gives us the rest of the day clear (apart from the usual stuff).

Dh is feeling rotten re work/redundancy/life... All normal, really. But still tough.

Tomorrow:
-feed 7 people breakfast
-take dd to dance
-pop in to m+s for lemon gf cake?
-pop in to whsmiff in same area to return a bday book and let dd spend the money on shiny new sparkly things...
-drop off 2 bags at the Sally Army (thus clearing some valuable floor space)
-make fairy cakes
-make the pass the parcel
-make wands (and get dh to print a big fairy to stick the wands on to)
-clear big table
-sweep
-hoover
-clear hallway

Plus whatever else needs doing...

Sweeping and hoovering haven't happened. And dd said that she wanted me to make the cake instead of buying one. Except that now that I've attempted it, she's decided she wants the m+s one :rotfl:.

Pass the parcel is all wrapped up; fairy cakes made and iced; balloons inflated and stringed and hung up; bday banner hung up.

Still plenty to do tomorrow though!

Best go fill some party bags. Thought they'd be 12, then the non-replying one replied as her mum had only just found the invitation! Everything we have for the bags is in 12s,so I need to do some creative bag-filling!

Dd is currently sharing the sofa with her 19-year-old cousin and they are both colouring in. Cute scenario!

Pearla - will know definitely re dh next week, but he had the letter this week saying he is still at risk. And there are 2 at risk in his dept, and 1 has to go...

Today is party day - And we have snow! Dd will be soooooo happy!

Once dh has left for church, I'll put on a wash, sweep, wash my hair and do more tidying. Then wake up dd + dn.

Must remember to source a cake...

The party is finished. Phew! 13 girls and 5 grownups. It all worked well and they went home happy. Dd has some lovely presents and is now munching some toast, given that she ate rubbish food at the party! Neighbour's daughter stayed for over an hour at the end, so they played nicely whilst we tidied up. Dh is still pottering on, whereas I have parked my posterior.

Cake and cookies double fiasco got resolved.

And we may just be ready for tomorrow. At least, the necessary stuff is physically done, even if our brains are not ready!

Must get my reports finished tomorrow. Must remember to go to the 8am governor meeting and not head straight for school. Must wake up in time...
