    I've been Money Tipped!
0845 number to cancel up to 4p a minute on landline , how many people will query the upgrade , nice money spinner for tesco !!!

I called to keep my original dark pink card and opt out of the Platinum one. If there is a change of number etc, it would be a pain in the buns to change all the payments I have coming off.

I've had this letter too; I have a Tesco Classic Card which I believe offers more Clubcard points per spend than the newer cards. Can anyone confirm this because it would be daft to switch if the points per spend was going to change.

I have had this letter too and I have the Tesco Platinum card and pay it off each month. Don't know why but I prefer to keep a Visa rather than Mastercard.

My husband is with TSB and he had his credit card changed from Visa to Mastercard without his knowledge. They apparently sent out the information to him but we never received it. He was sent a Mastercard but as we didn't know about the changeover, he just cut it up. First thing we knew about the change was when his Visa was declined.

I have not had this letter yet, BUT I have the old sunflower visa card that offers 1 point per £2 spent outside of Tesco. I believe the new cards offer 1 point per £4 spent outside of Tesco.

Please correct me if I am wrong

Just checked my card and its a Visa one (card renewed last month), I hope they DO NOT change my one as I will not be happy.
I like the wording that state you do not need to change as your 'already getting a super deal'! :rotfl:

  • can someone clear this up, is the platinum actually worse as it gives you a point for every £4 non tesco compared to the current point for every £2 non tesco

what are the benefits of a platinum card?
  • Actually, you will not lose any points, it just there way of 'thanking' for being so loyal.ALL RBS cards are being converted to mastercard and you will earn more points on tesco.com

p.s i do not work for RBS or Tesco and called up to find out why they were upgrading the cards.
Also make sure that if you are going on holiday you find out when your old card will cease to function/use another cc when away

    Hi

Just had letter delivered it states re clubcard points:

Spend £2 anywhere and we'll give you 1 clubcard point. Spend £2 at Tesco, Tesco Direct or online at Tesco.com and we'll give you 3 clubcard points.

Double clubcard points on purchases made abroad until 30th September 2007

This was on a leaflet enclosed with the letter

  • Just phoned Tesco as I had one of these leaflets this morning.

What we've said about going to Mastercard for all cards is correct, which stumped the woman when I said my classic card was already a MC hehe.

Clubcard points are the same, as someone has already quoted so I think the reason is just they're consolidating cards, let's face it, they have loads now, what with the petrol, clubcard and interest-back ones they do now.

We still keep our 'better super deal', i.e. In tesco spend £2 and get 3 points, elsewhere spend £2 get 1 point, whereas for new customers:

"The more you use it, the more you get back! - If you pay with your Clubcard Credit Card at Tesco or Tesco.com, you'll get 5 points for every £4 spent!
And, every time you spend £4 on your Clubcard Credit Card, no matter where else, we'll give you 1 Clubcard Point".

Just a perk of having a shiny platinum card methinks.
