Well I've had quite a productive day today so far. As well as getting some housework done (only because hubby is coming home tomorrow and he would shout!! - I would much rather be crafting!!!) I have managed to cover 24 little envelopes, that I found whilst sorting out my card drawers the other day, with Christmas paper and have cut out numbers using my cricut (think I've used it more over the last couple of months than I have since I bought it several years ago!) to make an activity advent calendar for the kids. I am not going to count these yet though as I am wanting the kids to decorate them with some die cuts, stickers and old christmas cards from my stash so will count these once they have completed them. Think it will be a weekend project to keep them amused and get them excited no doubt
I am declaring a further 16 makes today though. I have made some heart shaped photo magnets using some glass nuggets I have had lying around for ages. I got carried away (as usual) and instead of buying one jar (which contain about 40) I bought 5 jars so have got lots to use up!!!
I am trying to make lots of little bits and pieces for Christmas stocking gifts and these are going to be for the grandparents and aunties. This is one set and I have another 3 sets to go (possibly 4 if I decide that I really want a set too)so hopefully these will make my total increase quite quickly and help to get me to my target figure before the end of the year
I have sat down and made a list of all the things I want to make as Christmas gifts and am finding that this is helping me keep focused and get making.
I LOVE Christmas. It's a great excuse to craft and stash bust!!!!
Hope you are all having a crafty day:)Mortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
I made a winter mobile using two Christmas decorations, some horrible hairy string we had and an old, tatty embroidery hoop
Moment of truth - will the photo work.....drumroll.....

Also made two tea light holders from old candle jars, hessian and random buttons and embellishments I had lying around.

Today I was asked to make an engagement card for a "non-traditional" couple (no hearts and flowers in other words.) This is what I came up with, all from things I had already:

It sounds like you've been busy Pixie Dust - I'm a bit gutted though as I can't see the pics (probably my Facebook that I never use)...
I have had a whole day at home -and all I have done other than some washing is cut up one sheet of Christmas tags - (not exactly taxing I know but was as much as I fancied)... Oh and deal with the flowers my fella bought me yesterday for graduation...
I really do need to find the camera cable... It can go on the list...
So 8 from 20 complete (I know it's a small one but I really enjoyed my day of nothing)...
And have decided to up my end of year target from 20 to 50 - I've been being bad as I've been doing small things rather than the things on my list initially such as embroidering the table cloths etc... And if I'm doing smaller things to get stuff finished and used up I should try to do more...

Nimbo - I have amended the Facebook settings: please do try again and let me know if you can see them?
Congratulations on your graduation0 -
Today I made six Christmas tags from a kit from a magazine and some diecuts, bells, fabric etc that I had lying around.
I also spent some time with my scrap paper box and my trusty Cuttlebug making die cuts in readiness for future crafts.......not sure if that counts though as I seem to still have a full box of paper scraps AND a selection of diecuts!0 -

You worked magic and I have seen the pics.
i love the jars - and the mobile... (now looking for an excuse to buy the rest of the things needed to make them but i will be strong)...
I have some pinecones that i was thinking of using for something christmassy. I'm a bit gutted that I only have one embroidery hoop that I will need when I embroider the table cloths. haha
I have made 12 Christmas crackers as I thought we may have 11 for dinner... Turns out we'll probably only have 7 as the kids (and assorted partners - not as bad as it sounds they're over 16) probably aren't coming as they'll be at their dads etc. (my sisters children rather than mine).
I haven't finished the 12 sheets of card - but have used a lot of the offcuts for die cutting. (i feel a butterfly garland coming on). I picked over an old box of crackers for the snaps and hats etc as I am truly into the concept of not buying anything - I did add some chocolates however the £1.18 was cheaper then the £20 odd for the crackers that I really loved...
I do want to make as many of my Christmas things as possible - but I may have to cave for table cloths - they have some really cute looking ones in the 99p shop and as they'll get used once a year i'm happy to pay that price rather then use that amount of fabric... (I really don't think I have anything suitable either)...
I will take some pictures as soon as I find the camera and the cable which are in a safe place since the Halloween party - shame they aren't lost together to make it easier...
I am wanting to crack on with some other bits but we have no heating so I think i may just stay snuggled under the blanket (until tomorrow - landlord wanted us to wait till Monday but as there's already mist in the air when we exhale there wasn't a chance)...
The next thing is a set of bunting - autumn inspired... woo hoo

I have to admit to not getting any more crafting done since I last posted
However I promise I have not been lazy - the kids took part in a judo competition today so obviously I was there to cheer them on. Both of them won gold medals and won all of their fightsIt also makes my son the boys under 8 regional champion and my daughter the girls over 8 under yellow belt regional champion. To say I'm proud is an understatement. They have only been learning judo for exactly one year
I promise I will try and get some crafting done laterMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020
