Well I have been beavering away making a Sunshine Box for my mum who is not feeling well with a chest infection. She has a tendancy to get really down when she is poorly so I came across the sunshine box idea on Pinterest and the kids and I have spent since Monday evening making it. Basically it is a decorated box containing all sorts of little yellow treats.

    Ours consisted of:-

5 x Sunshine peppermint sweets (peppermint patties decorated each side with cut out suns)

1 x Happy Bag - should have been a jar but it was too big to post. The bag contains little folded bits of yellow and orange paper each with a handwritten message or quote on them such as "You are my sunshine", You are so deeply loved etc.

    1 x Card

2 x Hugs - from the children (again an idea I found on pinterest).

1 x Box of sunshine happy pills (a matchbox covered in pretty bright papers and filled full of mini cutout suns)

2x Scratchcards with decorated post it notes attached

    Photos

CD with hand decorated cover and insert

Little bag of happiness (an organza bag filled with different bits and a poem)

    Wish Star with love poem

2 x Loom Bracelets made by the kids

Happiness Seeds - wild flower seeds in a handmade seed packet decorated with a cut out sun

All put together in a hand decorated box.

I'll try and get pictures up on my blog as soon as I can as it's really hard to describe it here. Even though I say so myself the end result looks pretty good and I hope my mum will love it.

The kids and I had a great time making it and we used up quite a few sheets of cardstock in the process so it was a great little project for the half term holidays.

So I am declaring a further 16 items towards my total as I'm counting each item I used my stash on as 1 thing :)

My total is getting ever closer to that magic 1000 figure (although 2014 would be even better!)

    Keep stash busting everyone :)

  • Not sure how to post a picture from my ipad so I will just comment on what I have done so far. 4 fridge magnets and 6 reindeer food. Hopefully the weekend will give me a chance to get going.

craftingmad, thanks for the kind comments. I’m enjoying making costumes/clothes again. The bear outfits were just a way to use up stash – and I probably wouldn’t have thought of it if it weren’t for this thread, so thanks. Right now I’m trying to figure out how to make a Batman costume for my other grandson’s teddy. It’s the hood/mask/ears that are the tricky bit. I do have all the fabric I’ll need!

What a lovely idea your sunshine box is! You must have been sending sunshine vibes through the air because today I needed a get well card for a wee boy who’s just had his appendix removed – and I decided on a sunshine card I saw on Pinterest. As usual, I made two cards. I used funky foam for the sun and the clouds.

My grandson also got through some of my stash making a get well card too. I didn’t get a picture, but I’m counting it in my total!

Maisie, I do like that bauble card.

Good luck with your amazing crafting target, Highland¬_Lass. I’m sure you’ll achieve it easily. Once you’ve started you’ll be on a roll, I’m sure.

    Happy crafting everyone.

Love the cards green tiger and glad you picked up on my vibes :)

I have had a busy couple of days - facepainter plus halloween = busy! So have not had a lot of time to make anything but have managed to make a harry potter type wand out of skewers, paint and string from my craft room for my little lad's halloween costume so im counting that as another one towards my total :)

Got village firewotks tonight and then a craft fair tomorrow. Hopefully I'll sell lots of stuff and then have to make lots more :)

    Happy stash busting everyone :)

    Good afternoon lovelies

Lots of gorgeous makes, envious of the talented sewers

Greentiger - I buy my letters off Ebay and sometimes just buy the letters I need rather than buying a full set

Been a while since I updated, had a few bad days and then had half-term to contend with, but I've managed another 15 items to add to my total - 6 pics attached

    3 x Reindeer Food
1 x Frame (as requested by DS)
    11 x Gifts tags

Ooh forgot this decoration I've made

After tea I will be tearing rags and hoping to complete one rag wreath before bed

Catch you all soon, keep up the great work everyone :T

Well, here are pics of Mallo bear as Batman! In the end, I didn't put eyeholes in his mask - he just has to keek out underneath, lol. He looks a bit strange, but grandson is delighted, so can't get better than that.
