DD enjoyed her pancake for breakfast. She decided on scottish ones which are far easier to cook. I made a double load of batter last night so it was ready to go at 6.45 when I dragged my bleary head out of bed. Consequently, everyone left the house early.
Only I was still sitting in my PJs at 8.30 when I saw the road men appear :o so I whipped upstairs to get dressed so I could move my car. Whilst I was brushing my teeth, they rang the doorbell to ask me to shift it :o.
I've run DW x1, not enough washing for a load yet.
Right, let's have a quick peep and delete :D
Hmm, sitting on hold now to SP. OK, all done. Coffee time now :)

I have no ironing and an empty washing basket! The bathroom sparkles as does the kitchen sink!

However....there is a great big frog still sitting on the dining room table in the shape of some paperwork that needs to be filed away. I would gobble him up tonight but I'm out so it'll have to be a weekend frog now.

Hope everyone is having a great Thursday.
  • Playing catch up as I've had a cba week and we took 90 mins fetching a child who was sick as soon as they got to school this morning and dropping his boots off to be mended. Finished my coffee so I'll just do what looks worst in each room for now

    Hi everybody

Just taking a break from painting the grandchildren's bedroom aka my office, and DH is making :coffee:

I was woken several times in the night by what sounded like a bramble knocking against the window, but we have no plants growing up the walls. I can only think that there might be a loose cable flapping in the wind, or maybe water was running off the dormer above - it was blowing and raining hard most of the night. Now I am shattered!

Hugs, spoons and sticks to all in need.
  • Wow - you have all been busy - I've done tidy upstairs and now hoovered the bedrooms and landing - also wm x 1 and td x 1 and dw x 1 and hand wash up the rest.

Yesterday I also managed to clean the bathroom floor - it's my least favourite job as it means I have to get out the floor wipes as too fiddly to mop.

Also managed to declutter 2 packets of biscuits :o whilst on coffee break watching Jessie Pavelka?;) on the Obese - trying to save my life programme. Have now decided that enough is enough and I must declutter some of this excess weight - what did it finally was being unable to lift one of the 5kg bags of potatoes that Mr T have on offer for £1.74 - and today I realised that I am carting several of those around on my body daily!!!! I won't say how many- if you don't mind.

Off to prepare tea now and finish in the kitchen. Then hope to clear this week's ironing before my walk.

Lame Wolf do you have a banana crumble recipe by any chance? Hope that is ok to ask here :)
    Of course it is.:o

Lamewolf, banana crumble eh? Tell me more. I lurve bananas but really don't know about crumble! :o. I just can't picture it. Banana custard has to be one of my favourite puddings ever! Especially if the custard is so thick it develops a skin :D. DH hates nanas AND custard, strange chap :rotfl:.
OK ladies, to start with, I wasn't at all sure about banana crumble, either; but decided to experiment anyway.:D It does actually work!:o

The way I do my crumble topping, whatever fruit I'm using, is to mix 4 oz melted butter and 4 oz Demerara sugar, and then mix in enough porridge oats to make a stiff, but not overly dry mixture. I don't measure the oats, just add til I get the right consistency. If I'm using banana or plain apple underneath, I sometimes add a teaspoon of cinnamon as well.

I use an 8" enamel pie dish, and just slice up 2 large or 3 small bananas, enough to put a good layer in the dish, put the crumble mix on top, and bake at 180 C for 40 to 45 mins, til the top looks cooked and golden.

This basic crumble idea also works with pineapple underneath - often our local market has pineapples on offer; I got two for £1 recently. I get Mr LW to cut them up, and freeze the pieces, which I then use on pizza and also add to my sweet'n'sour sauce; well, the last time, I was short on freezer space, so tried putting some in a crumble as described, to use what wouldn't fit in the freezer - I just put a layer of pineapple in the dish and did the crumble mix and baked it, and it was superb!:o

I've been out to the post this morning, but that's about all - so tired. And for some reason I was awake all night, in floods of tears, Haven't a scooby what that's all about.:( Ruddy BD I suppose.:( I haven't even done the washing up yet - I may wait til I've finished the pot of coffee and do it all in one hit. Someone kick me up the backside, please.
