Oh Lamewolf, sorry you had a poo night. :(.
Those of you with extra weight issues, have you heard of the 5:2 diet? Basically, 2 days per week, you restrict your calorie intake to 500 (for a woman, 600 for a man). The other 5 days, you eat normally. You will lose weight gradually and it is purported to have many other health benefits. DH has been doing this since mid February and has lost loads of weight. He was carrying it all around his tum which is not good but now he's almost the shape he was when I met him. I did it too when he first started and lost 1/2 stone in first week. I then didn't lose any more but didn't need to. I have stopped 5:2ing as I actually 5:2 naturally with working nights and just not feeling hungry some days.

Reference done. Road diggers appear to have scarpered for day but have only taken off lumpy bits of the surface. They were supposed to dig it right up as it has hazardous material in it. Plus, if they just tarmac over it as is, it won't last a winter. Hmm.

I have done a bit of reading on the 5:2 diet, there is a thread on it on the diet part of this forum, am i right in thinking the 500/600 cal on the two consecutive days and that it has to be one meal.

Sorry i hope that makes sense, I am off to clean the kitchen now.... Honest lol.

lozzy you can split the 500/600 up through the day. Small breakfast - Porridge with water, small lunch -boiled egg and apple, grilled fish and veg for dinner for example.. Not consecutive days. Do Monday and Thursday or whatever works for you.

Any suggestions to get rid of nasty smells? Cat has done unmentionable in the study. I've cleaned up using minimum detergent and used liberal quantities of fabreeze. It really stinks.

Did a present wrapping session this morning. DD2's presents are done.
I plan to do a little and often. I hate wrapping. Really hate it.
  • sorry you had such a bad night LW

Lozzy, i think at size 12 you would be considered slim.

im subscribing to the eat less move around more method. im not following anything in particular but going on wii fit as often as i can and cutting out some of the junk certainly seems to be helping.

Been to work, Dh has been home so weve had lunch (jacket pots with cheese and beans) Hes gone back so im going to amke a start again.

HHC@3pm anyone? going to give the bathroom a go now and finish off up there.

    Afternoon all

Spent most of the day chatting, went to a friends with my other friend who is having her second chemo tomorrow. The a neighbour from right up the street popped in and he chatted for 2 hours! I think he is lonely when his wife, who is younger, is at work.

RP is brighter today but still very difficult to get her to eat.

I've done one each of DW and WM and that is it.

A bit chilly now so I'll get the hoover out.

Mumto5 Cover the area in bicarb powder and leave for 24 hours then hoover up

    Lamewolf hugs xxx

(((HUGS))) right back atcha, Dusty, and of course a gentle cuddle for RP.

I was thinking about it; my first-ever canine guest, Peggy Sue, had kidney problems, I do remember her drinking loads while she was here - I'd say to her "come on, isn't that enough?" and she's literally stamp her little hind feet and continue slurping; and I also remember sitting with her on the sofa and hand-feeding her just to get some food down her neck. Gosh, that was back in 2009. Time flies!

Re weight loss - we're both going with the smaller portions and WiiFit when possible route. I don't think the 5:2 would be good for me with my health problems, but I have heard of others doing well on it.:o

Still haven't done the washing up. I don't know what's wrong with me today.

Thank you for clearing that up Mumto5, when you explain it like that it actually sounds do-able

    .
My sister put something on face book the other day a funny picture thing, I normally take no notice but this one said "I wish I was as fat as the first time I thought i was fat" haha.
If I was a size 12 now I would be over the moon, I have gained a size with each child, totally my fault, I am quite short so at this weight I feel really unhealthy also if I can loose some weight I might not need a op to fit a shunt for the pressure round my brain.

I love it when my kids play nicely together too, its quite rare at the moment!

I have cleaned the kitchen, just dished, window sill, dried dished, cleaned the tops. hob, grill, oven, microwave and put the rubbish out but it look so much better for it.

No flying really as DS off again - I'd sent him in yesterday but he was shattered at the end of the day and spent a lot of last night coughing so home today. Had my hair cut and lowlighted this am (DH looked after DS) thanks to Groupon, then done a bit on my sewing machine this pm, sorted chooks and been playing with DS. Done 2 paid jobs too.

Hugs to poorly people and children, pats to poorly pets, bones and sticks for BDs; haven't read thread properly so hope that covers everyone! Off to start dinner ....

Lamewolf It sounds to me as though you are missing the having a dog around and exhausted from going out last night, at a rough guess. (((Hugs)))

10 more jars of crabapple jelly, the slow cooker is working on a tiny batch of crabapple and cranberry chutney and the fourth batch for jelly is boiling. Another day of trimming and chopping tomorrow, another even tinier batch in the slow cooker and that will have finished this year's crop. We left about 3kg on the tree in the end for the insects that love them and which in turn feed the blackbird. I found three ladybirds in among the c/apples we picked, so somethings working.

I swished and swiped the shower room yesterday. For the first time ever, I knew just walking in there we had two chaps staying. Yick.
    Better is good enough.
