Thanks for your help here.
I followed that link then had to click on global sites, then UK.
Then, at the bottom right - "Already Know the Card You Want?" - select "Platinum Moneyback Credit Card" from the drop-down menu.
Many thanks

It's also on quidco with £33.75 cashback.0

I applied for the Halifax 2% cashback on shopping card and got rejected.
I have an excellent credit history:been with my bank for 25 years and have saving, but because I am out of work at the present time, I was refused.
Don't they look at the whole picture, Like good history, wife working, long banking record and saving.0 -

Yes they do, but income is probably of the prime importance.
It's up to them whether they want to offer you credit.
It's not an automatic right.
Sorry, I appreciate it's frsutrating especially when they won't tell you why, but you basically don't have any rights in this situation.0 -
Yes I do realize and understand and as they said they are behaving as a responsible lender.
But as I do have income and have had a MBNA card for 15 years or so and always pay off every month without fail, it is just disheartening to be refused.
But I do understand why!0 -
On the whole I think most applications get dealt with by a computer and there are pre-defined rules.
If you feel you are a special case that doesn't fit those rules but are worthy of credit then you could try an appeal where a human being will review your case.
Appeals can sometimes be successful.
Just depends how much you want the card and how much effort you are prepared to put into it.0 -

Also - paying your credit card off in full can actually get you refused for credit in some situations. If theyre never gona make any money out of you for late payment fees or a few months interest here and there-why would they want to lend you any money?0 -
why would they want to lend you any money?
They do make money on all transactions because they charge the retailers a % to use mastercard/visa, so even if you pay off on time they still make money.
But it is a good point.
Anecdotally some credit card issuers (like GE Money for example) turn down people who pay off on time because they will make LESS money from them than the people who pay interest.
This doesn't explain it completely though as whilst this applies sometimes I don't think it's true across the board.
I'm salaried and good rating and I've rarely been turned down (GE money was one but there was widespread anecdotal evidence of them not wanting people who pay off on time).0 -
Hi Guys,
This is my first post on the MoneySaving Expert forums and I hope you can be of help to me! I'm buying a car worth £16500 in the next couple of weeks and was wondering how I could act fast to save myself some money and get a cashback credit card to reclaim some of my outlay. Which one would be the best to apply for...? It seems AMEX may be the one but I don't know if the vendor will accept it (unlikely). Obviously this would be a one-off purchase.
Your help would be gratefully appreciated!!!0
