Yes, but I would expect the car dealer to want to pass on at least some of his fees.
Car dealers often do not allow you to pay by credit card for this reason.
It will clearly only be worthwhile if the fees are less than 4%.
Yes, you can do this but be aware that your money might not be insured, so if it gets stolen by fradulent use of your card then you might find that Capital One's insurance doesn't cover this. (I don't know in this specific case but I know of other card companies that do not insure credi balances).
Another idea is to pay the card dealer in installements.
I'm sure they won't mind you paying in advance and provided you have a receipt then there's no issue with this.
The main issue will be the fees.
The car dealer will be unlikely to want to pay the fees themselves unless they are absolutely desperate for the sale.
Of course if they agree 2% fees then it might still be worthwhile.
I've certainly done this for holidays (and you get 4% on your 2% fees as a bonus).

Im trying to find out if they take Credit Cards0 -
Let us know how you get on.
I had a look at the wen page and it looks like it's for people buying cars on finance to me.
I couldn't see any option to pay for a car anywhere.0 -
I have just used the link to go to the Barclays Platinum Cashback website and it clearly shows at the top right of the page that you only get 1% on Supermarket and Petrol purchases and 0.5% on all others. So it would appear they have withdrawn the 0.5% + 1.5% cashback offer on Supermarket and Petrol purchases already. Or perhaps, even Barclays don't know about their latest offer yet.0

I received a survey call from Capital One the other day. This was quite a lengthy survey but 2 interesting questions were put to me.
1. Would I use the card a) more; b) the same or c) less if the cashback was reduced to 0.5%?
2. Would I use the card a) more; b) the same or c) less if the cashback was increased to 1.5%?
I don't think I need tell you what my answers were considering I also have an EGG Money card giving me 1% on all purchases.
But who knows we could be looking at 1.5% soon.0 -
Sounds like one reason to hold on to your Morgan Stanley account just in case.0

Its showing 2% cash back on supermarket and petrol shopping here:-

Had a quick glance back, didn't see this, apologies if etc
Had a letter promising 7% cashback on any petrol purchases with my Shell Credit Card at any Shell garage, plus less cashback on any other items, during February.
This is quite good for me, as according to my email updates from petrolprices, Shell round here are usually the cheapest anyway.
Don't log on here very often, so sorry if I don't answer any questions you may post.
Might be worth investigating though.0 -

I have had this argument with everyone at Barclaycard ranging from the Customer service reps to the Chief executive. The official thing is....
1.5% Petrol/Supermarket spends
0.5% everything else
not 2% ive had the card for months, they never offered 2%...
please comment if you also feel confused, it is very misleading!
the capped limit at £15.00 is each i.e. you can recieve £15.00 for supermarket spend and £15.00 for other purchases.
-Spend as much as you can on the card and repay in full.
The amount comes off your monthly statement every month, which is definately a bonus
Does anyone else know another credit card which gives monthly cashback directly off your statement?????INCREASE INTEREST ON SAVINGS!
...I will thank you if youve been helpful, please do the same! :j0 -
OK! I'm going for the 4% cashback capital one card!
I've got a big orthodontic bill coming for my daughter so thought 4% cashback on £1500 would be a damn good idea!
I don't think I have any 'credit history' apart from an old HP load(paid) and an Alliance & Leicester card which they closed cos I never used it!
I don't hold out much hope of being accepted??
Can someone enlighten me on this 'cash advance' business? What is it?Best wins: ITV Real Deal CASH,Trip to Lapland.0 -
