Hi Im sorry if i posted this in the wrong place ive never used a forum and dont know how to use them properly yet.
I made the utimate mistake of owning a store card account with index which i paid off around a year ago. I have just read the article about claming back illegal charges and wish to claim back mine.
I no longer have my account details for the above account and as index has closed i am trying to find the name of the credit company that index used to run their cards, does anyone know who they are or how i can find out for myself.
Many Thanks

Despite a low income, I was accepted for the 4% cashback Platinum Capital One credit card:j . Surprise surprise, when it arrived it was the bog standard Capital One Mastercard
- no mention of any cashback here! Rang them up and they said they were offering the 4% on this card!!! Call me a cynic, but I doubted their word and have asked for written confirmation of this. I refused to activate the card until I receive it. Meanwhile, my 3 months offer is ticking away! Watch this space!
Anyone else find this familiar? :money:0 -
yes, I was accepted but they sent the bog standard card.0

I got the Platinum version, and have started using it for all transactions, tried to setup an online login for the account to check it out, but not allowed to do this, possibly too early.
I called the 08458 400 400 line and pressed a lot of buttons to get through to a representative, they cut me off!
I can see that one way to catch people out on clearing the outstanding balance might be to confound them!
Pressed the 'setup a direct debit' option button and got through to someone half a world away, they were very helpfull although could only read out scripted answers. I have set up an variable direct debit to be collect from my current account every month to clear the balance, they are going to write to me to confirm this. In addition the monthly statement will state the payment method.
And I found out the online website is the .co.uk website not .com which google defaults to!If it takes a man a week to walk to walk a fortnight how long does it take a fly with tackity boots on to walk through a barrel of treacle?0 -
How good a credit rating do you need for the Egg Money card? Could this be seen as an alternative to the Capital One card for those who have little credit history (eg. students)?0

Apologies if I missed it but the CONRAN card used to appear in the top cashback list, but no longer. I have one - but notice everything is only marked MBNA now, the Conran name has gone. Has this one ceased to offer caskback?

The Conran cashback card is not available anymore. The MBNA card do not offer cashback.
The two BEST cards listed below offer 1% cashback:
https://www.capitalone.co.uk/web/raid/templates/formdual_temp_10_001.jsp?page_id=10400&context_id=2&step=1&product_id=2303
or
Citibank
http://www.citibank.co.uk/personal/cards/cards_plat42.htm?type=cards&merchant=citi&offer=A118
You will get 1% off (cashback) for any travel payment of £150 or over once you have collected enough cashback (you will need to spend within 3 years £15,000 to get £150.00 off)
Do not go for Egg money it works like credit/debit card.
