Yep - I too got the GE Money notification. What a nuisance. I wonder whether to cancel my egg card now and then take another out nearer to November and get the £35 cashback on offer at Quidco.. There is a thought.

NOTE - I just cancelled my Egg card and they said you can't take another of the same type out for 12 months. So in my case, I had a VISA, so I need to wait 12 months before taking another VISA with them, I could however apply for a Mastercard with them.

2% cashback is limited to £15 per month. I take it that means the cashback is limited to £15 per month, not the spend eligible for the cashback. Looks favourite to me.

I have a 4% introductory rate at the moment but I'd accept a lower rate in return for a long term deal.

    :)

Got the GE money letter yesterday - bummer ! I've really milked the pointy-things off it. I have applied for the Capital One card - the online application said it was doing more checks - how long does it take to get ? The GE drop dead date is 14th November.

    Mine came through very quickly.
Others have had some delays but then there have been postal strikes and a lot of people applying.

It is a credit card which gives you a percentage of your purchases back.
I have the GE money card use, it gives a percentage back 3% on food purchases, good news is it gives cash back at filling stations as they are also food outlets, bad news is they are closing the account.
