Here are 2 pictures of cards accepted by Aldi at the Bulwell Nottingham store.

So that's where the op lives. Now expect a massive property value crash in Nottingham lol!

No idea about Berwick, but I thought it was more to do with both Aldi and Lidl being German companies and the Germans - wait for it - don't use credit cards!

I've used my CC in Aldi in Freising (a few miles out of Munich, but not quite as far as Scotland).

But you have already told us the Aldi have confirmed the card information is outdated. Even ours is outdated, but a majority of people are aware Delta cards are now Visa Debit cards.

When i opened the Santander 123 accounts it was suggested we open a Santander Credit Card account for a year. After the first year it becomes chargeable.
This has resulted in us focussing on what we have actually spent during the month and which retailers are a benefit for us.

Until I discivered the quirky geographic bias on accepting Credit Cards at Aldi. I never checked whether a retailler accepts Credit Cards I automatically assume they do.

My first contact with Aldi regarding the emabarrasing refusal and other issues which came to light was on September 20th.

From my conversations with an Aldi Assistant Manager yesterday there were 3 occasions where Aldi could have resolved this.

What I have discovered in the last couple of weeks is that Aldi do not have a credible policy on accepting Credit and Debit cards and any regard to their customers at all.

You and the Banks DON'T own Aldi, so cant force them to accept Credit Cards or any form of payment.

You think that because you want to use a CC at a store then that store MUST accept them. I think you seriously need help.
