i only emailed to point out the difference in their receipt and publications. I often speak to my local store manager as i get some items at wholesale price from him.

Thank you for this. It's very interesting to discover you getting wholesale prices at Aldi.

Under what circumstances does the manager authorise a wholesale price for you? Is it more expensive than the price that normal customers pay ?

Perhaps you should email Aldi and ask if managers are authorised to give wholesale prices to customers. Seems highly improbable to me to be honest

They can if you purchase goods in bulk. I also get some bulk items from Asda at wholesale prices, you need to speak to the managers to get these prices.

i usually go in at the end of seasons and get these, so it is a wholesale price of goods they have left over ( such as halloween goods, christmas goods etc)
  • Christ! Just had a brief look as I often shop at Aldi and thought that the thread might be enlightening - recommendations, good buys etc. A quick scan.. nah... and then I went back _65_ pages to the OP to see the full horror.

If I were an Aldi manager I wouldn't want the OP's custom!

Thanks for this I have 2 Aldis near me I will be going in soon to develop the communication I have with two Aldi store managers and their area manager and hope to get wholesale prices too.

I was hoping to initiate my plan to communicate with Aldi directors but I may have to put off till next week.

First they didn't take Credit Cards apart from .... and then Aldi don't give Vouchers ,,, and now I discover they give wholesale prices !!!

    You couldn't make this up

this saves the store from either

    1) finding space in the store room to store them until next season
    2) packing them up and send them back to their distribution warehouse and send paperwork to their accounts department to get the returned stock amount back onto the stores budget
    3) take up store space by placing them back on shop floor at a reduced price.

I can take £500 worth of their xmas stock off them 2 weeks before xmas and sell it all in the 3 xmas fairs i do in the week before xmas.

It was the store manager who approached me 4 years ago when i went in for some shoppimg the day before i was doing a fair and they had packs of xams cards reduced to 10p a pack so i took what stock they had and it was the manager on the till , he told me to come back as he had other stock he could let me have a these prices.

Just after lunch today I visited the Aldi store on Radford Boulevard Nottingham. By chance I saw the Deputy manager and had a chat with him.
I told him about this thread and that his store had been mentioned a few times.

I discussed the lack of accurate Credit Card and Debit Card information in his store and he agreed with me.
I mentioned to him the topic had been mentioned about Store Managers selling Aldi goods at a wholesale or discount price, for end of season excess stock etc

He seemed very surprised by this and had no experience or knowledge of this happening at an Aldi store. He said that generally all stock is sold and or is discounted in store for all customers and what is not sold is returned. He was unfamiliar with the concept of selling at a wholesale price in store.

read what you wrote, which mean it may happen at some stores . Do you think ANY business is going to turn down a chance to sell their stock in bulk at a discounted price.
  • Can I just point out. I went to a Lidl today to see if my Luma cashback card would work. I was told Lidl don't accpet credit cards which I'm sure I read here someone saying they do but it looks like that someone was wrong. Lidls website also says they take debit cards only.
