The Customers services managers letter states 7 regions.

So does that leave the North East or the new place you mentioned in Wales ?
  • Perhaps there's a Berwick Upon Tweed office! :rotfl:

Would you have spent more in the store if you were able to use a Credit Card there ?

Please would you consider asking him the next time you visit if it would make much difference to his store if Credit Cards were accepted ?

In particular in the run up to Christmas ?

CC would make not difference for me, just went in for some pies as what they sell is full of meat and not like Asda or Iceland where you get 5% of a meat looking blob and 95% air

I have to ask ... where there any pies in stock or had someone eaten all the pies ?

How did Aldi do in the horse meat scandal thingy a while ago ?

My only personal preference at Aldi is their marmalade it is excellent quality and very good price.

But diet keeps me from it (and pies and puddings) now

However if I was able to buy with a Credit Card we would stock up on long sell by and use by date stuff.

I am very fortunate although Aldi is my nearest supermarket there are many cheaper alternatives to choose from nearby too...
And all of them take Credit Cards

Well our nearest supermarket is Asda, then 300 yrd away is Lidl and then 1 mile away Aldi.

with Pies and their fruit you have to get their early as they all go and you are left with the rubbish

Very good, they were one of the few places for a while I could get decent frozen burgers.

Why were you asking? Trying to find something else to moan about?
  • Our local Aldi cleared out all their own brand burgers and we could only get much inferior Birds Eye ones :(

Thank you for pointing this out and thank you for asking me.

I think how a company reacts to a problem says so much about a company.

This thread was not running during the horse meat situation so im glad to hear from you that they responded. well.
Do you think you may have eaten horse meat in Aldi products.and if you think you have do you think it could have affected you in some way.?

I have now first hand experience of how Aldi reacts to their cutomers and through the contributions of others on this thread Aldi have still a long way to go in improving communications with their customers.

Some years ago i had occasion to visit Ross Foods in Grimsby at their office with the exclusive addres of fish dock number three Grimsby.

It was a very impressive operation indedd. The Brand range of products was a surprise to me and what i did notice was the number of own brand products they made for just about every Supermarket..

I am unaware if Aldi has its own brands but I think that on the back of this thread Aldi could launch its own Credit Card to encourage loyalty to Aldi and repair is image.
This would hopefully be accepted in all stores in the UK and not just Aldi geographical bias of banning Credit Cards except for in Scotland , parts of South Wales, and Berwick Upon Tweed.in England.
