Loving the book exchange there, Pippi :)

And you're doing well on the food mountain too! Marriage to your Rock God is good for you :j

My pancakes were good, thanks Pipster - I tried just one flour (instead of a mix of flours) to see what it was like, but I prefer the mix, so I'll go back to that. And the key is definitely using the computer in the kitchen, so I'm not coming and going, and letting them burn as a result :)

He does rather agree with me. :D

:T to pancakes but  to leaving the room when they're cooking, glad you've sussed that - they're very needy creatures who long for your standing over them :D and burnt pancakes taste just grand I've lots of experience of that.

  • So where ARE we at.

Well its 8 days to go and we're still thus far under grocery spends and yesterday was an only spend for work day.

I've still not used my vouchers for Mr T its quite tempting to get the wee monkey of a DS a rail card - or perhaps both of the wee monkeys - why he didn't take his free 4 year rail card offered by his bank is BEYOND ME. However as uni and thoughts of boxes of treasurers loom for DD I did wonder about using the vouchers ($48) for lovely new towels and a few bits for her new residence when she heads to halls. (Her uni of choice has not accepted her yet but being Edinburgh they're allowed to be lofty)

Mr RG is working silly hours doon sooth and playing on bikes and guitars so he's keeping out of mischeif.

Hounds delighted me this am with a rancid looking derrier on one of them so first job was a pouchparlour. Before coffee I have to say this was not fun, but best done half sleepy I fear.

Money I must totter off and look at. I've rent to cajoule into its crevice and must look at oil payments how much we have on account - if we don't order it soon, we wont have used enough before we go. I'd like to NOT order any but I don't want to run out a month before we go and pay more money for something I'm leaving. So we might just crack on and phone them.

Food shopping I'm trying hard to only buy the smallest essentials and whilst I'm a 'daily' food shopping addict - even coming out with milk is good - so maybe I'll retrain myself at OH's and buy smaller quantities but more regularly like my mum and grannie use to.

I've also handed in my notice at work and given them 3 months.

Sorting the rehomed stuff at the moment and packing up books as I want the bookcase to disappear too - have shed more books which I just don't think I want, mainly island travel ones........

2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • Thank you KC its quite scary how can it be so soon when its been so, erm, long.

    Mwoah.

In most exciting news some money I'd forgotten I'd lent to a chum has appeared in my bank (£165) so I've thrown it straight at the card - I lent it over a year ago and didn't mind when it came back.

So now its gone on the card which will take one of them down to under 1500. :D

    Off to update the spreadsheeets.

ETA YES!!!!! That's taken the total debts under £5k must see what that means to the cc total.

    Does a wee dance.

**does a mahoosive great dance - less than £5k!!!**
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • Thanks KC

The scores on the doors are

    -4939.95 - total debt
    -4389.95 - total CC debt

That's certainly a step in the right direction isnt it. One of the cc's just had the interest (£104) put on which has made the inroads not a great but strengthened my resolve to pay things quicker. I've also taken the cards out of my purse, whilst that means I'm paying for work things on the debit card, it helps knowing that theres not more build up on the CC and this month isn't too work spendy heavy as my events are regular but not enormous. IF that makes sense.

And having a money focus on here is helping hugely that's making me feel so much more positive.

Thank you all so much for the encouraging whooping from the sidelines, much appreciated!!
