Mrs McB's countdown to adventures with chooks (and Rock Gods)

Aw thanks KC - bags are SO hard to avoid even if you have remembered your own - its an automatic response. I see there various issues including smaller shop owners who might find it difficult but some want the Govt to allow them to opt in - interesting article about Rwanda..where bags are actually illegal now here too.
The 'spicy' banana thing is equal parts really finely chopped onion/banana a sprinkle of lemon juice to keep it all nice and bright, a bt of chilli (optional), a bit of sprinkle of sugar or maple syrup or honey (optional but if you use lemon juice it helps.) and a good dodd of coriander (if you have it) or a squeeze (if its fridgey minced) - combine and scoff.
Its just delicious and no idea where it came from probably a combo of things I've seen before but its not to everyone's taste.
Yawns up a bit later - pancakes consumed (thats ploofy Scottish pancakes, not flat-bread pancakes) have a cuppa in front of me and up to see if the manchild is up for his proof of life yet.
Todays plans involved dodging the showers whilst walking and maybe even the cinema.
A bit of Scandamania later as I'm really enjoying it - must be this Scottish/Norse living we do
Man I'm tired - feel totally hungover and no wine consumed - which reminds me the cards are allowed an extra £5 todayTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Good for you! Before the environmental movement really got started, I did this quite a bit, and some of them got quite stroppy about it  I do think people understand more now.
I find that I have most difficulty getting the staff in the 'cheaper' shops to not give me a plastic bag. One actually rolled her eyes at me in BandM t'other week. Still, I'm not too sure if it was because she had to remove the item back out of the bag to give it to me, or because in saying, 'oh, er I don't need a bag, thank you', I had actually interrupted the [STRIKE]b1thchinsession[/STRIKE] chat she was having with her mate on the till. :rotfl::rotfl:
And yes, there were 2 members of staff on the till, even though there were no queues at any of the tills.......
Have a great Sunday Pippi - we'll be hooking up with Hugh F-W for the last episode of Scandimania later.

Greying I'm so seeing that - whilst yesterday's lady was kind, she was most put out I did not take my purchase in her white poly bag.
I'm liking some Hugh Furry-Whotsit action myself later too.
The weather here is MIXED to say the least.
So far Sunday has not gone very swimmingly.
Although I've chatted to the Manchild for a goodly hour, taunted him with pancakes (he's hungry) and had some good chats and almost made an adventure plan to meet up which involves me being posted to the highlandsfew biscuits and I'm up for that
I've haivered randomly about nonsense of a more serious nature for a change - job related and the agnst concerned with that and donning heels verus being covered in mud - both equally admirable in my book, the latter more comforting........
Paid £5 off the cc from lack of wine last night.
So now I'm going to cocoon myself up and have a walklet with the muttlets who look darn fed up.
Have a great one yourself Greying and fine fellows on here.onwards to a soaking although be staying away from one of the favourite beaches as its got quick sand at the mo (eek)

I can now claim a frozen and soggy rear end.
Bracing I think we call that kind of walking.
An 'afternoon' high tea is a chugging (HM fish and chips) in the oven whilst we warm up. Mr RG is a packing as he's soon for 'sooth' and we're minded to venture out to the cinema later to see Walter Mitty - the cinema here is cheaper than your mainland types but seems to have gone up a fair whack recently..................
I must write up the meal plan for the coming week.......................Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Hope you enjoyed the pics.
I was astounded to discover it was £9.50 a head here  very recently when we went for a family birthday.
Not a cheap night out.
Yes, I am an avid fan of the fabarooni place with a view.

Was absolutely fantastic!
Meant to say the NL were oot last night (aurora) and were fabby. That made my heart sing a bit. Linked a vid on FB with my pals dug prancing about too.
Eek to that hill - we use to live on a farm with a hill like that - scary biscuits - so glad you enjoyed if we'd been down we'd likely had been there too!
All good here a few bargains in mr t after movie (I do know how to live) - including salad, yoghurt and fresh pesto all under 20p
Didn't get any bread, none reduced and I'm not a fan of over £1 a loaf unless its a treat.
Busy day tomorrow as GP says, pieces to fill with goodies
Have a great day tomorrow folks xxTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Well done you for saying no to the bag. It's second nature here now as we've had the tax for over a year now. When we were in Scotland last October we bought something and the lady automatically put it in a bag. I said "no I don't need a bag" then I had to apologise as I remembered you don't charge for them! Fair play she took them out of he bag and asked loads of questions about how we find it with the bag tax in Wales. She was quite interested.
It does take a bit of getting used to but by now its second nature here.
Hope today isn't too busy for you pippiGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Thanks starnac :-) most interesting!
Today has been a bit of a slog, probably due to *someones* alarm going off at 5.15 of the ungodly AM as they were catching a ferry to go play on their bike........
He's safe enough and biked (at a hilltop NOT the 267 miles all the way home) before continuing his journey home - not sure he's there yet......:-)
Taught flowery things in the later (:D) am, so thats money in the bank in marchand the SUN SHONE so we had a long plant ID walk round - spring is out there chaps!
Taught portion sizes and leftovers into the afternoon so that gained me a free lunch of curry and riceand passed on those measuring skills....
Petrol expensed and found a chum enroute who I kidnapped for a free lift for her too
Beached dogs (walked Not over fed)
Bought some milk, need bread but raided the coppers and *might* have enough for a loaf will scurry up later and shamefully hand over a fist ful of coins and look sheepish but I am NOT DRIVING TO TOWN FOR BREAD!
leftover sausages and leftover ratatouille quickly turned into sausage goulash to go with the leftover rice in the fridge :-) result! Not that I'm hungry but the teenager generally has a vicious appetiteand there should be some left to freeze...
Am really goosed today so sofa calls.
Hope you're all grand.
I'd pondered on EH's diary about £48 vouchers for mr t which I normally use for magazine as a treat - not bought any mags for years as usually use vouchers BUT not had any for a while either and I don't miss them......
Perhaps I should use for grub this month and bung the saved 48 at the cards?!
Or stash for Xmas treats.......ponders ponders.
Then the good lass mentioned nectar points (nae clue, have a card only ever use it n the mainland, lol) I need SERIOUS RETRIANING when I venture sooth to all this new land of stuff and deals.
I'm a sad hopeless case, right enough, I know nothing of supers 6, nectar cards and alike........
And mr t vouchers for train deals?!
I'm needing to go to MSE mainland shopping school aren't I?
And, meal plan still to do - will be heavy on veg meals as the meat chomper is away and we'll have a few yummy non meaty meals which he doesn't get on with :-)Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Cauli cheese and baked tattie
Tarteflette (bacon less) cos we've not got none will use some peppers for colour
Frittata cos we've lots of eggs or egg and chips which is just about the same combo just cooked different
Cheesey/eggy pasta spaghetti (cos its the cheapest dry pasta I can find at the mo at 25p/500g) wonder why that is?
Kedgeree with smoked fish
Pepper surprise as we've lots of them
Rumble thumps
Aubergenie curry and flatbreads
Pizza rice :-)
That's a bundle of yummy teas and not much shopping (if any) needed
That should sort us out eh?!
Need nanas, cheese and milk later in the week
Must scamp off for bread in a mo, bad mummy that I am I forgot it cos I was too busy yapping to my chum in the car and whilst I like bannocks, the dd tells me 'not so good' for a peanut and jam sandwichTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Bread (£1.60) it's local and lovely but man breads pricey.
Milk 90p so today's a £2.50 LSD.

Beanie I meant to say YOUCH to the cinema down by you is it the big blue one?!
And if you don't mind can you indulge me with what you scoffed at Room with view? They're menu is divine.
