    Evening Pippi!
Longterm lurker here!Firstly, many congrats on your recent nuptials, really delighted for you! Going to stick my beak in and wonder whether you should think along the lines of a year or so in RG's flat to allow you some breathing space moneywise and build up a wee fund ? Bit of extra work re your mutts and dogwalking needs, though I know, as well as probably kids sharing space in the flat?(Hey,needs must:p )
And maybe any kind of work initially to get some cash flow going- bar work etc? Am sure you have thought of all this anyway, but just a thought to ease your debt worries while married life becomes all too real in east(?)Scotlandshire! *skulks off again....!*

Hey Big Lass (nice to see you again!) In reality I think what you've said is probably the wisest and 'most practical' solution. RG's flat is cheap mortgage and requires a lot of tlc and with almost no living costs I'd be best served helping him in between a wee part time job, to support kids at uni. Thank you for reminding me that I also have options which are already in place and a fine few chums in the area there too.

DS lives too far way for staying with us and DD also needs to live too far to travel for uni - so we'll have two not at home but needing support.

The joys of parenthood. So job a good idea/flat probably more practical and kids not at home but room for them at no real extra cost.

The reality of moving is that we're mostly likely to move into RG's flat already fully furnished but cheap with a houseful of furniture from up north which also needs homed (storage?) somehow. That's also something to ponder.

But you're right if we did end up at the flat, it will give us breathing space. That's for sure and thank you for reminding me of that - some times you can't see the woods for the trees. I know I'm fortunate and not alone anymore but often I forget those facts.

Lovely to see you on here.

    Thank you.

Its late time for bed - will read/and reply to you lovely chaps tomorrow xx

LSD (bus fares and reduced bread) - busy with events for work from early doors.

Mr RG just booked the honeymoon as he was waiting for the best price - clever chap. He's learning.

:) a honeymoon plus a stowaway bunk for a lovely DS ordered and paid for now just need to pack the pieces and some warm clothes and save some pennies to make sure we're OK for chocolate.

    :D

As luck would have it today I'm also not on shift until lunchtime :D

    Banks to check
PAD to make to the cards
Wood to ferret in from garage
House to tidy up a bit
    Dogs to walk
Food to sort out for later for tea
    Lunch to make up
Life paperwork to do - flights to book/mutts to rehome at xmas

I also ventured into the notion of hoovering (indoor lawn mowing if you may) but we'll see if I get that bored

  • Hurrah for MrRG booking the honeymoon - good chap waiting on the best price too - see, it IS getting through! :rotfl:

£50 for cooking ingredients is daylight flipping robbery - and sending things home in non-recycleable containers is just taking the proverbial, particularly to your household! Gah!

the staying in the flat for a while thing, well at least that way it does mean that you're on the spot and ready to go for viewing hopeful looking castles etc. Also once the flat is all TLC'd up you're in a cracking position to get it on the market and sold when the perfect castle presents itself. Takes the pressure off a bit that idea, doesn't it.

I feel your pain on wanting to PAD but not wanting to leave things short - I'm itching to do a shuffle over to my VSP account but currently can't as we're deeply squeaky (ie about 67p or something silly) on what needs to come out to cover the CC. *sigh* - annoying, innit! :o

  • Hey up me ducks.

    Well today has yielded thus

    £50 paid to Captain Card
    £50 paid to Terrible Card

This money was the potential underspend on the groceries - I have £200/month in my budget and we'll probably hit near £100 so the other bit was split between the cards.

    Whoop whoop.

We've enough food to last the month.

Aside banana's of course I'm sure hide.

Off to make tea - :) see you in a bit.
