Hello fine MSE fellows!
I've busted the NSD with a 88p swag of 3.5 kg tatties
And life returns to relative calm with the advent of the stachy wonders in the house again.
Busy day, petrol expensedso all grand. Dreich here so I'm about to put the fire on.
NO word on jobs yet -as the interviews are next week - I'm beginning to get twitchy.
Patience is required and I'm not great at that.
The triumpsy bit about that is the I have none. And the poor refresh button on my email is looking at me a bit like it needs a holiday.
Tea is cooked and I must remember to freeze up that soup.
The breads were declared a triumph from MR RG who's decided I can do them again.
He's nice like that.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Two thinks for this afternoon
Polenta - (we're reaching the bottom of the stores dear hearts) - I think I like it but we've had the same bag for a few years.......(unopened) so I must google cooking and ideas for it. Thinking required.
Books - whilst i KNOW i'll take most of them all six million tonnes - I could actually take a look at the 8ft+ book cakes (and various book stashes) and see what isn't really much use/needs recycled for someone else to love). So I really need to think about that.
So polenta and books should keep me busy for a bit.
I'm also coming out of that nasty winter dark night fug so I really have no excuse for not blogging. (Even if my poor readers would prefer otherwise)Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Excellent potato haul there! :j :j Fire sounds lovely, I'm not jealous at all, oh no, not me, not at all. I'll just huddle here round my plug in electric heater
Come ON job people -email and offer Pippi the job!! (or at least an interview). Sending making-the-right-decision vibes through the air to the decision-makers ~~~~~~~ hope you hear soon!
Hmm, polenta... Let us know what you find out, I suspect I too have an unopened bag (I wonder if everyone does?!)
And naughty girlyour blog readers would LOVE you to post more often (although they quite understand when you don't, I'm sure!) xx

So 15 books (mainly large a4 size) are heading for new shores via chums/recycling/local nature office.
Mainly genetics, kids teaching nature stuff and biodiversity farming.
Whilst I studied/taught/and for a long lovely while farmed for a goodly long time farmed a bit more - I see none of these in my current future.
I will take a peek at amazon before I relegate them to the 'rehome piles'.
Happy and sad all at the same time.
I *KNOW I could keep them but feel somehow that I've imbided all I can from them and someone else can find them useful. Or several someones.
And these days with Mr Google etc - I barely dip into them any more.
Does feel weird but 15 books decluttered is good.
Also got a PM from a pal via book of face who's in need of furniture and bits so we'll see what they can claim.........
And speaking of Mr Google...............polenta research beckons.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Waves to cheery - no word yet - rude I tell you, rude, its been, um days....and if the interviews are next week, I'd really like to meet them too.........but its gone five so I doubt it will be today. I think if I don't hear tomorrow, I'm goosed (pardon the pun RT).
I'll update you re polenta.
Blogging I love, whining I don't, hence the silence - must try harder.
Fire's not crackling, no no no.

Bah indeed L - tis so hard when you work out the practicalities of taking a job (which you really don't have) before you apply to make sure you don't waste their time.
Sorry if that sounds SO whiny!
And, thank you.
I've also lodged a 'blogogy' for being awol - so I must look at the positives from now on!!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Of course, with the jobs thing, it could be that the organisation have been blown away by the exceptional calibre of candidate and they're having trouble shortlisting....... Or the chief 'picker' has 'flu and they've not thought to tell y'all why there's a delay....... or they're gonna offer it ya right off, but are just debating how many 0's to add to entice ya.......
Chin up dear thing - we know you are perfect for itOthers may take a little time...

Waiting to hear news of any sort is horrible, and yes it's awful when you've gone through all the issues of how you would cope with the job, live in the new place etc so much that you feel as though you're already there and then... nothing. You have my sympathy. I think you just have to keep busy to take your mind off it.
Loved the blog photo!
Polenta - now my first choice would be lemon polenta cake, really scrummy, but I know you detest the c word so I'm only mentioning it in case other people really do have unused bags of polenta lurking in their cupboards. Next though I suggest polenta pizza. We make this quite often, it's different to regular pizza base but tasty, filling, and quick and you just use the same toppings as you normally would. I use a recipe in a book on pulses and grains, but if you search online there are plenty to choose from, there's a quick version on the BBC food site (tried to insert a link but nothing seemed to happen).
Well done on book-sorting, it is a wrench isn't it, like throwing away some of your past!
I have just filed my tax return and paid the bill - yay! A bit too skin-of-the-teeth close really but it's done now, and I really will try and do it sooner next time!0 -
>>>> is trying to adjust to being home after such a super time upyonder!!!
