Well Newton Faulkner was awesome - any chap who totters down the stairs to the stage, teapot in hand wearing odd (one stripes, one patterned) and no shoes - will always get my vote :-)

Mr cheery would have been most proud!

Of course he also has fine Celtic flamed hair too.

  • Morning!
Have to confess I'd never heard of Newton Faulkner, had to look him up. In the video on his website he's wearing odd stripey socks too, and drinking tea!

Well it's a bit dreary here today, and chilly, but at least it isn't raining right now; was pouring down yesterday again. Today will be mostly a domestic day as have friends coming for the weekend.

Yesterday I excavated right to the bottom of the freezer and found that the last few layers consist of rhubarb, gooseberries, rhubarb, jostaberries, gooseberries... oh and a few more gooseberries. So our friends will be eating some of those in one form or another, and then I'm looking for inspiration for a change from gooseberry crumble or cake (we don't really need any more gooseberry jam or wine either). On that note I also need to prune the bushes, but it's still a bit wet to be walking around on the soil.

    What's everyone else doing?

HOORAY to all that unexpected fruit trog! :j :j

(((wik)) hugs if you need them lass xx

Grey and nondescript out there, I'm thinking a run and then the rest of the day will be mostly sofa-based :D
  • Hey up chickies!

One of my favourite Newton song - teardrops

Trog well done on the fruit hall. :) how about gooseberry muffins?

I'm unfortunately poorly sick - came home with a bit of a tickle and how I'm proper spluttering and on the sofa in a cocoon.

So Cheery I'll be joining you in the sofa based for the day.

I confess I haven't made it as far as the sofa - sat at the kitchen table with hot water bottle (still in dressing gown too :o :rotfl: :rotfl: ) In my defence I'm sorting out finances and sometimes that NEEDS dressing gown and slippers!! :rotfl:

You look after yourself lass xx

Hugs and gentle positive vibes from me too, Pippi - and Cheery, absolutely, pjs are called for when you need comfort in this weather. 4pm, and its *really* dark outside - the light has been lasting till 5pm, but its so cloud covered :(

Pippi, take care, hope you're having a bit of an extra sleep :)
