my mum always leaves a message saying 'hi cheery, it's only me'... :rotfl: :rotfl: so if i couldn't recognise her voice i'd be none the wiser anyway! :rotfl:

i confess the only reason we stick to our budget is that mr cheery does all the food shopping :o :rotfl: i was always rubbish at sticking to food budget and i hate supermarkets and being in them, so he goes instead :D he trawls round different shops and gets stuff that's on offer, and if i've requested something that's expensive i don't always get it :o :rotfl:

he's also pretty good at making dinner out of nowt and loves to run the cupboards down and eat bizarre combinations of tinned and frozen things :rotfl: but occasionally we end up with giant bags of somehing on offer and have to eat it with everything - at the minute it's potatoes for breakfast lunch and tea :D

neither of us have expensive tastes, he eats fish but really just occasional tin of tuna, and we make pretty much eveything from scratch, take leftovers for lunch etc. He often has tea made when i get in from work :D breakfast is generally porridge-themed, and our 'treats' often consist of a single freddo to share :D

not bad for a rock god :D

Can Mr Cheery come and live with me for a while??

Oh and speaking of freddo's I've just eaten one myself. My mum brought a packet down for the kids while she babysat them for me to go to run club. I get home to find they have eaten 2 EACH!!! So I confiscated the last one while tutting at my mum for being such a bad granny ;) and I've just this minute ate it :rotfl:

When my grandfather was alive, I used to ring him to check how he was and the conversation always went like this:

    Me: hiya, it's only me
    Him: me who?
    Me: this me
Him: oh THAT me! Hello me!

Every time!! :rotfl: he used to love it bless his cotton socks ;)

Pippi hope the quote won't be too much for you x

  • £5 wine dosh paid to the cc - whilst its not much helps keep me on the straight and narrow especially as at one point the wine spends would be 'more' than the food budget we now stick to. Which is funny when you write it down in real life - but it all added up.

I'm glad those days are passed (stress/overwork/coping strategies) but I know if I don't keep a track of things we could revert to a bit more wine than would be good for us quite easily.

    Small things and all that.

:) must make a list and crack on with the day and make a plan.

I'm going to be busily writing in dust to save EH doing that once she's here.

Just submitted a quote for van hire too and can compare with that and ferry costs once get removal quote.

TBH I'm so inclined to go with a company this time but we'll see.

ETA just looked at large vans on ferries.

    I think I need a peedie lie down.

  • I'm actually thinking of setting the stuff to sea with a label on it (bit like a message in a bottle) and seeing where it all ends up.

If you can get a boat DH could sail it for you. He even has a certificate that says he can sail in open water or something like that anyway!!!! ;)
