OOoh, interviews galore for you! One on |Friday and another later in the week?? :j :j :j You are in high demand! Fingers crossed lass xx
  • Ha Cheery - just like buses two come along at once.

Now the second one is a bit tricky - no expenses as it wasn't written into the proposal...................

Must talk to TRG and see if there's a chance of a sneaky free lift down.

Not ideal at all but its for a community gardener............and I'd love the post - guess will get Friday under me belt and then see what's what.

Glorious sunshine here just enjoying a bit of lunch in the sun.

    Hope you're well too!

Ooh, Pipster! They sound wonderful, both of them - I hope you can figure out a way to go for the 2nd one as well.

  • Hey there chaps thanks for the pop in :)

Long day yesterday so melted into a sofa when home around 9-10ish.

Hope you're all well - sun again today! YAY.

Long chat with TRG last night (free) which was great and helped salve my washing machine head.

Exciting news in this household is that the non-cellist got into her 1st choice uni in the big Scottish Smoke so she's very excited about that.

    Great news!

Time to 'seize the day' and think on through those interviews.

I realistically don't think I can go to the second one with no help so I'm going to offer them a conference call type thing and see what they come back with, I'm keen and want to be proactive but I can't afford to head down twice in two weeks and pay all of it. Its just not practical sadly. But I''m being positive and offering proactive solutions.......and unfortunately I committed to the first interview and paid for the travel before the 'letter' plopped through my door for the second. Which if emailed would have ironically arrived before the first IYSWIM.........and its my 'preferred option'

Man sometimes it sucks being a grow'd up.

Anyhow's no point in moaning about opportunities! Seize the day and all that.

    :D have a good un!

Aw pippi, that is indeed vexing. Can't you combine the two and just stay down there for two weeks? :D A nice holiday! :D Or perhaps one of them has been hankering for a trip to Orkney for ages :D Fingers crossed they're amenable to a conference call thingy, they'd be VERY lucky to have you, let's hope they realise it! :j Hope all this interview-getting is doing wonders for your confidence lass :)

    :j :j :j Yay for the cellist :D Great news :):)

Congratulations to DD! But what a shame the interviews have developed in this way, the travelling I mean ... great idea from Cheery to get one of them to come up to Orkney :D it works sometimes, doesn't it :)

    Seize the day, indeed :j

  • Thanks guys
With teaching comittments etc I can't unfortunately go down the road for two weeks. (Although its quite tempting)

So, I've been withdrawn as they won't consider a vc etc and I can't go down on one day and back the next for under £400 so its a no go.

Ironically I'll be in the area the following week - which I've told them (at a work conference) which is expensed so free to them.

Hey ho that's the way the cookie crumbles.

I'd not say I was very confident honestly its making me feel quite unsettled. What's that all about?

    :(

Pippi, its bound to make you feel unsettled, honestly - after all, you're at the start of negotiating a price for your labour, and especially when you do that yourself, your own identity is all scrambled up in it. And it does sound like they're being really hardline, knowing that you *can* get to see them for free the next week, and not accepting that, not accepting the reality of having to apply from afar. More fool them, they've missed a star, and I hope you can take that on board by the time you come to sit down tonight :kisses3:
