you're still not answering the questions various people have asked;
you seem au fait with technology so why not avail yourself of online banking?
why withdraw 520 in cash if you have a debit card?
etcThe questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -

Hi there.
Which questions?
I have answered ones i feel i can answer, regarding online banking, i have never really given it much thought to be honest.
The withdrawing of the cash is just something that i do.
I do pay on my debit card also.0 -

Co-op's online banking system is carp.
Currently it has my balance at 1725.86. I know the available balance on that account to be just under 1k as I've paid my rent and bought some Christmas presents in the last 48 hours, however the online banking gives no indication of this.
The only way to get an accurate balance with Co-Op is via an ATM or by phoning them and actually speaking to someone (their automated system also doesn't take into consideration any pending transactions.
Realistically, Co-Op need to modernise their internet banking system as it's beyond useless.0 -

Interesting.
When you say the only way to get an accurate balance is to use an ATM, this is where this falls down, as it was an ATM where i got my balance firstly, and a Co-op in branch ATM before i withdrew the £520.00, now if my account had not been deducted for the purchase i made, then my balance would have been £550.00, but it had been deducted leaving me with £522.00.
Then comes the letter saying i had over drawn, which i had not, and then the Co-op telling me the machine had given me the wrong figure.
Then they tell me all is correct on my account, and dont have to pay charges, as it is a glitch on there part, what part i still do not know.
And still my £25.00 has not been returned.
!!!! poor in my opinion, VERY.0 -
You've fallen foul of the Co-op's sh*t systems.
Usually I'd say that people should rely on the available balance combined with their own records. But the Co-op seemingly can't provide an accurate balance for their accounts, and they don't seem willing to change that fact.urs sinserly,

There you have it ! If it was a bigger, uglier bank it might be a deliberate shafting, but in this case it is seems it may simply be what JJ says
From the late great Tommy Cooper: "He said 'I'm going to chop off the bottom of one of your trouser legs and put it in a library.' I thought 'That's a turn-up for the books.' "0 -

If i didnt keep an accurate account, i could have believed anything they told me.
But when i presented them with my facts, receipts etc i basically gave her nowhere to go, now i do not know how this will end up, but i am getting increasingly angry as the time goes on, because i know how this lot put people off and buck pass.
I used to work for the co-op in a senior role within there funeral business, this i have not dropped in yet.0 -
If you want an accurate explanation, you might be best making a formal complaint, asking for a written explanation of the problem. In many banks the complaints team seem to be better trained than an average customer service bod.0

I'll believe it when I see it, I have banked with several banks and have NEVER known such a useless set up as co-op's banking, it is a farce.
I see people commenting trying to blame account holders for not keeping records of their spending. I agreed until I tried co-op banking, I am now running screaming to another bank, I have had to cancel all my SO's DD's as I just cannot trust the balances. I used to work in accounts, I know what I am talking about.Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0 -
I have to totally agree with this and how rubbish the co-op systems are.
I only opened a Co-op account as even the basic account came with a Visa debit card rather than the Electron that I had with the Halifax. I always seem to be ringing up for my actual available balance (even though I have it on spreadsheet).
I have now been able to move to a full current account with TSB and the I trust the balances a lot more. Made my 1st debit card payment today and it reflected this in the available balance as soon as I checked online banking. What a relief!Been there, done that and Ebay'd the t shirt. :beer:0
