Co-operative Bank Shafting Me.

Could you possibly have mis-read £00.00 as £60.00 under poorly lit conditions ?0

My initial thought is that maybe there were a couple of other transactions that the OP had forgotten about, which came off the balance.
I think we'll have to wait to see the list of transactions when the statement comes in
But I feel fairly confident in saying, that whatever has happened, it isn't shafting.....most likely a mis-understanding somewhere along the lineEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Sorry i dont do online banking.
I just dont understand how it can happen, the bank can not give me a full explanation, and i am out of pocket.
Glitches happen, no system is perfect, and if something weird's happened then it's right that it should be investigated. It's quite unlikely that they are "shafting" you (shafting implies deliberate efforts to do you over, there's no evidence of that yet), and unfortunately you are going to have to wait for your statement to check.
Why not go into your branch and get a statement printed?0 -
But they do offer a form of Internet banking, don't they, so you can stay ahead of paper statements if you so wish.platterfish wrote: »You would think this would be simple, but the co-op don't offer this, they will send it through the post.0 -
I've never known a PayPal payment to arrive within 1 day. It normally takes 3-4 days. I'm fairly sure they are not sent by faster payments.0

Hi
I can confirm that Paypal do now use faster payments and have done for a while now. When I transfer money from paypal to my bank it says it will normally be in my account within 2 hours. but it's always been instant for me.0 -

This is another example of why I don't bank with Co-Op any more.
When I check my Nationwide account online or on my phone app it always shows me balance and available balance. So, if I have £100 and spend £10 on my debit card it will show me £100 balance and £90 available.
If I check online or on my mobile app though it will show me £100 and the only way I can see that £10 has been spent is if I physically go to a cash point and check my balance.0 -
Did you really need to take out £520 in cash? Don't you have a debit card?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

The £25.00 went in to my account, yet co-op kept it because they say i went overdrawn on 2 purchases, the letter they sent me stated that there were no funds to pay for the 2 items, yet my balance clearly stated £60.00 which co-op confirms, and the said items were paid on my card, in other words, no funds, no purchase, card would get rejected.
They have given me no explanation "YET" as to what the problem is, only that there machine gave me the wrong figure.
Yet going over the account activity at the branch, everything was in order, all my purchases were up to date, nothing outstanding pending etc.
They have telephoned me this morning, and basically after waffling in my ear for the best part of twenty minutes, have confirmed that i will not incurr any charges.
Yet could still not tell me what has gone wrong.
Still not received my £25.00 back from them, as i have to wait "Apparently" until they have carried out an investigation, "Into themselves" to find out what exactly has gone wrong.
The lady this morning said it was a slight glitch on there part, and are working with, i forget who she said, to rectify the problem.
An absolute joke, it really is.
I just know when speaking to them, that they are only telling me what i want to hear.
I know £25.00 is not a lot of money, but to receive a letter like they sent me, stating BS when it is all there fault, is infuriating.0
