pre-ordering 2 and the trying to sell the second one for double the asking price (like the first first ebay link above) is pretty toutish behaviour.
Its not exactly like an unwanted present...0 -
The rip off has already started..

And this is just taking the biscuit..

Disgusting.
Are people really that desperate to pay over a grand for the X1 in either case. So wht if the UK based console is rare, surely you can still buy a physical copy of fifa though.0 -
as a previous poster said these consoles where very VERY easy to go into your local store and reserve one for as little as £20 to be guaranteed on release date.
Anyone who has the sense to reserve 2 sell on for twice the price and get their one for free is a money saving expert in my view.
you don`t say anything about Sony or Microsoft charging 4 to £500 per console which probably cost under £150 or less to build anyway.
If people have not got the sense to reserve something they really cannot wait for and they are so impatient for it they will pay twice the normal price that is their issue.
If they had patience about a day or two after release they can walk into a shop and buy one there and then same as i-pad when that gets released you will see cues of people everywhere yet the day after you can walk in grab one pay and go without all the agrovation.
too many people are like sheep follow the crowd follow the crowd ...over that cliff... ah whoops should not of followed0 -
I noticed asda were taking pre orders for 1 of the consoles, just needed £20.0

I passed a Game store earlier with an A-board near the door suggesting you could get either new console on launch door with pre-ordering.
Thought they were only guaranteed for Christmas now. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

I'm sure I read before that they actually make a loss on the console itself. It's the games and licensing where the money is.
Edit: This is about the PS4 but I'd imagine the same principle applies to the XB1.

It's nothing new. I remember doing something similar with the PS2 slim!0

What the components 'cost' is only part of it - what about the R&D & IP work that goes into developing the system.thasquizza wrote: »

Well I hope the same happens as did with the PS3, there was enough stock so all the ebay scalpers ended up selling for RRP or less and making a loss.
So in this case I hope they all end up stuck with Xbox Ones and PS4s they can't sell.
On the flip side if people as a collective all said no and didn't buy form them then they wouldn't buy them in the first place and said people would be able to get them from the shops.
I do remember finding out how the touts were getting the Wii's, I managed to get 10 consoles, I then search local forums for people who where in distress trying to get one for there children for xmas and in there words provided a miracle, I have never met people so happy to get something at retail price.
It took me all day to deliver them as people kept dragging me in and trying to feed/water me, I was also referred to as the real Santa!
I will say the happiness myself and those families felt was worth so much more than the money I could have extracted from them.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017
