Any good Reguler Savers?

Having a few come to an end and what with ICICI giving such a good rate, it hardly seems worth doing any that are lower than 8%. Anybody have any good uns?

Yes - I can do a search like everyone else. But often the gems don't come up on these searches or its not obvious their are special conditions that make them more worthwhile than others

Well then, would you like me to do the search for you, find out the special conditions and report back to you? ;-)

Why not just get to the points rather than waste time?

Lloyds TSB 8% is the best one I can find

If you want a FULLY answer, then I NEED to ask some further information from you:-

    1. Do you own a house? Is it mortgaged?
    2. Are you married?
    3. How much income you earn each month? Your partner?
    4. How much savings you have?
    5. How many credit cards you have?
    6. How many current account you have?
Might have more question to ask....
    ..........................................
    ..........................................
If you want to play with this game.

Let me try and help. I think the best regular savers are:

Yorkshire BS Regular Saver - 7% interest, allows you to pay in £500/month, maximum £20,000 but if you are lucky enough to have enough money to get to £19,500 then you could just slow down your contributions to £10/month. You can also make one penalty-free withdrawal each year.

    http://www.ybs.co.uk/savings/regular/regular_saver/detail.jsp

Scarborough BS My Savings - 6.55% interest, £250/month, max £15,000 but again you could slow down your contributions once you get near the maximum. Also permits one withdrawal per year.

    http://www.scarboroughbs.co.uk/savingsandinvestments/products/my_savings.html

Nationwide Regular Saver - 6.5% interest with an interest rate guarantee (Bank of England base rate + 1% until 1st January 2010) when you pay in £200-250 per month, no maximum amount or time limit.

    http://www.nationwide.co.uk/savings/regular_savings/interest_rates.htm

Between those accounts, you could save £1,000 per year with minimum hassle and fuss!

Hope that is of some help!

I too was thinking of putting money into the Yorkshire BS Regular 7% savings account..

But there is one thing i noticed though it is a variable rate..

Yorkshire BS had been very good about increasing the rate every time the Bank of England rate went up except that they did not increase it at all last time. Still, it is a very good rate I think, particularly as you can get £6,000 per year into the account and there is no maturity date.

If you don't like the fact it is a variable rate then go for Nationwide's offering. The interest rate is lower but it comes with a rate guarantee.
