Just keep the signs as they are and get a resident to clamp their car overnight. That will scare off illegals.[ /QUOTE]

I had to read that twice as I nearly choked on my cornflakes. Then I realised you meant their own car!

The fair and reasonable PPC that doesn't cost residents a lot and always lets residents, guests etc off any charges can be found next to the holy grail, Lord Lucan, Nessie, the Yeti and the USA Big foot.

They all need to make money and it has to come from somewhere. If they are effective, then no illegals will park (your aim) so who will pay their bill? Just keep the signs as they are and get a resident to clamp their car overnight. That will scare off illegals.
Yes, yourself and the others are of course all correct about such a PPC being as rare as hen's teeth. Presumably though, even UKPC could change it's attitude by signing a contract where this is explicitely allowed? I suspect though that they and the other PPCs have only the one standard contract and will refuse to deviate from it.

Yes, their business model is based on people "transgressing" the parking rules. They really really want you to do this in order to try and extort that money out of you. This is such an obviously corrupt system. They'd be delighted if everyone transgressed every single time they parked and then paid promptly every single time, but it ain't gonna happen.

Anyway, it's not me doing the looking for another PPC. I'm fine with the way it is now.
