Only some customers, surely?
The remainder of passengers obviously managed to get to the right gate for the right plane to the right airport.
Why should things be 'dumbed down' (and changed) for those who can't read 2 letters and 4 numbers and can't distinguish between 'Dusseldorf' and 'Dusseldorf Weez'.opinions4u wrote: »While I tend to agree with you, people do find airports stressful and do make mistakes.cherabelle wrote: »One of the other passengers has proof there was no sign up for a flight to Weeze, the only flight listed for 7:25 at all was to Dussledorf.... We even looked specifically for Weeze as we knew that's where we were going.
They told us at the gate it never gets put up as Weeze either..
The OP even knew she should have been looking for a flight to Weez.cherabelle wrote: »They told us at the gate it never gets put up as Weeze either..
Really?
The screen shot in an earlier post clearly blows that out of the water.0 -
If anyone owes the OP an apology, it's Air Berlin because they told them to stay put when clearly they should have gone to find the right gate.
What in heaven's name makes you think Air Berlin are to blame? The OP never said they were involved.
This story is quite simple. The OP went to the wrong gate, discovered they were at the wrong gate, and then failed to did the obvious thing, turn on their heels and get to the right gate.0 -
That's fine - but don't bang on about how you were 'screwed over' by Ryanair and plan a 'strongly worded' letter to a company not at fault here.0

I am well aware that you didn't.
The OP, however, did.
I thought it would be clear that my comments were aimed at the OP by using the same words as she did - 'screwed over' and 'strongly worded' in quotes.
From the thread title:Advice needed- Screwed over by Ryanair!
From the Op's first post:cherabelle wrote: »I plan a very strongly worded letter to Ryanair0 -

I think the Germans probably played their part, I imagine the conversation went something like this :
" Der dumme Englisch Schweine tun dies immer am Morgen Fritz, Wie haben wir verwalten den Krieg zu verlieren, sagen Sie ihnen einfach dass sie zu warten bis jemand von Ryanair zu sammeln ich wette, dass Sie $10 Euro die sie einhalten müssen und verpassen Rückflug, ha-ha-ha-ha ( in bösen deutschen lachen )0 -

Maybe the fact that OP said they went to the only gate showing on the board, which I'm assuming was the Air Berlin flight and that they were talking to the staff at the wrong gate, which I'm assuming as the flight was for Air Berlin, its either staff or agents of Air Berlin.cherabelle wrote: »With 35 mins still to go about 11 people all on separate bookings made themselves known that we had all gone to the only gate showing on the board. We were informed someone would collect us to take us to the right gate, they arrived an hour later after the flight had gone without us.
Staff at the wrong gate informed us it happens everyday and yesterday 52 people had the same problem and where left standed.0 -
Pollycat - Yes I agree with what you say.
However I'm yet to see an answer to my question from anyone. I can't think of other situations where a travel company serves the same destination at the same time as another travel company.
It's just not clear planning.
I'm sure both Air Berlin and RyanAir could do without the grief.0 -

Many airlines also move flights from 00.10 to 23.55 to avoid re-allocating passengers who can be very late for their flight.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

A mate of mine has been on Facebook this morning having just done the exact same thing today as op did yesterday. And I mean the EXACT same thing, same time, same airport, same flight, same wrong airline and same right airline.
Only difference is that he is cursing his daftness and calling himself a wally rather than blaming everyone else.0
