the rest of the passengers managed to get to the right gate, so the flight information board cant have been wrong.
Er..... ONLY flight on board for time of flight was for Dusseldorf (and none for 'Weeze')?? There wasn't one for any other carrier.
Stupid mistakes DO happen and they AREN'T always righted when they should be.*Look for advice, not 'advise'*

Did any of you actually READ the OP's initial post?? :T*Look for advice, not 'advise'*

Look's like the OP isn't the only one who has problems reading
You're right there - everyone else on the thread, apart from me, does! :T*Look for advice, not 'advise'*

The flight listed had a different flight number, and therefore clearly was not the one the OP needed.
You are right on your second paragraph - the OP made a mistake and did nothing to remedy it.0 -

1) Only flight/gate showing on board was attended on time.
2) "With 35 mins still to go about 11 people all on separate bookings made themselves known that we had all gone to the only gate showing on the board. We were informed someone would collect us to take us to the right gate, they arrived an hour later after the flight had gone without us."
What part of that ^^ did you (all) not understand??

If the OP's flight was not listed they should have asked for assistance. There was no logic in going to a gate that clearly listed another airline. You failed to answer my question above - if you were flying with AA would you queue up for a Virgin flight?
Some people are just determined to ignore the facts in front of them! :rotfl:0 -

Er....the flight to Dusseldorf might have been the only one on the board they were looking at but I very much doubt that the correct Ryanair flight wasn't on the main Departures board.
As someone has already pointed out (maybe you can't read as well as you think you can)
When you've left the main terminal airside building and gone to the separate departure wings, then the departure boards only show details for that departure wing of the airport.
So it's important to check for the FR flight number on the departure board in the main building for the gate.
This happens at Gatwick when your departure gate is in the satellite - you can only see flights departing from that area on the Departure board once you're on your way to the satellite.
And yes, I did read the OP's post.
And based on the above, I believe the OP had gone to the wrong gate (#5) and that is why she couldn't see the correct Ryanair flight - it was departing from a different area of the airport so wasn't showing on the board she was looking at.
How on earth do you think the majority of the other passengers managed to get to the right gate in time?likelyfran wrote: »Er..... ONLY flight on board for time of flight was for Dusseldorf (and none for 'Weeze')?? There wasn't one for any other carrier.

Yes, they DO happen and in this instance I believe it was the OP who made the ...... mistake.
So Ryanair AREN'T responsible for righting this mistake.
Why?
Because it is very unlikely that Ryanair staff were manning the check-in desks.
If the OP has a claim against anybody, it is the airport or handling agents.
If she had had any sense, she'd have gone straight to the Information desk instead of trailing to a gate for a flight going to an airport that she knew wasn't the one she'd booked to with an airline she knew wasn't the one she'd booked with.
I'd love to have a verbatim account of what was said by the Ryanair desk - I bet it was something similar to what most of posters have been saying.0 -

Love your new signature BTW, I can just imagine you playing chess with yourself in the mirror0 -
Sometimes the truth is a bitter pill to swallow.
It's far to easy to jump on to the " Let's bash Ryanair " bandwagon. It's a common occurrence amongst people too stupid to follow Ryanair's simple Terms and Conditions.
In this case the facts are very clear - the OP went to the wrong gate and then decided to blame Ryanair for missing her flight.
I have flown Ryanair more than a hundred times. I've never once gone to the wrong gate, failed to print out my ticket correctly, tried to board with an over-sized bag, etc etc.
Neither have tens of millions of other passengers who fly with them every year.0 -
