(((Dancemum))) please keep posting as often as you want to. We are here to support each other.

Valli, good luck with your application. If you get the job, I hope you will at least be able to call in to see us once in a while during school holidays.

    Happy birthday moomin!

Since 7.00 am, two walls in our bedroom have been emulsioned with second coat :D All tools and other oddments tidied away, with choc chip emulsion washed out of the brush and tray (I just throw away the mini rollers when they've been used for dark colours - had about 20 in stock when we moved here. so still have plenty to do the rest of the rooms). Back bedroom is ready for its emulsion, and I hope to get the gloss in our bedroom done this afternoon, possibly the back room too.

Shower, breakfast, call at shops to buy contribution to food bank, church, lunch, then back to painting. It's suddenly all coming together :) We also have to move a wardrobe (which DH has painted) out of the lounge and into the spare room downstairs - which in turn involves carrying all our clothes back up to our bedroom, where the built-in wardrobe is now finished.

We have the carpet fitter booked for the 28th too, but I am hoping he will come and do our bedroom one day this week, so that we can finally do some unpacking ;)

(((Hugs))) and spoons to all who need them. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, and I hope the gardeners get some sunshine. *If* it doesn't rain here today or tomorrow morning :rotfl: mowing the lawn will be on my Toots list.

I have a 16Litre in MBR and a 20Litre dehumidifier downstairs. They are quite large but can get filled up in less than a day. They were from b& q.
We did try a mini one but it was rubbish.
We also used the hanging ones from lakelnd for wardrobe and kids room. We only have had a problem since we had cavity wall ins put him. We still do get mould in the corners of bedroom ceilings and around the silicon on windows & doors but it is better than with no dehumidifiers

We too have a dehumidifier and it runs almost constantly during the winter. It has cut our heating costs and made our house far warmer than it was before. The damp isn't entirely under control and I think I may need to get another for upstairs but it is working it's magic for now. It is in our single skin utility and downstairs loo.

Thanks for the replies. I think it is the way to go - but I was wondering about size? I just need it for DS's bedroom (the box room - about 8 x 6). I think a 16L would be too big (space & need), but wondered if the mini ones would be efficient enough. I thought they were about £40-£60 until I looked online yesterday! I wasn't expecting £100+ :( Still, I think the investment may be worth it. Has anyone used a smaller one just for a smaller room? Rather than the whole house or whole of upstairs?

Flying wise... well I am out of bed & the dog has been fed! I need to make a list & stick to it this week - it has all gone a bit pants here! DH has started working (which is good), but it does mean that all the house work, ironing, cooking & dog walking that he was doing is now up to me or not being done. I need to get tougher on DS & DD2 as well (esp DD2, as she is doing nothing ATM ) My studying is also behind, so I need to fit that it (essay due in 2 weeks!) Oh dear - I am ranting & moaning - sorry! :o

Ok - I think I will get dressed and have some breakfast - that will be a start!

    Moonin Happy Birthday

Bug hugs all round for those who are having a tough time of it at the moment.

dehumidifier~~ intesting discussion, thanks ladies I am considering buying 2 one for house, one for office, but I also didn't relise they were £100+, might poodle off to b & q later, as I have ex's over 60's discount card~~ I will report back or may look on line first.
Just had a thought may be MrT's or b00ts do them, then I can click and collect and get points............

Any way so far, sorted out mountsock more
    Kitchen done
Sorted out all my ear rings, matched them all up, chucked out the broken ones, and sort neatly in to the boxes. Just got my late mother's ear rings to sort now, still cannot bring my self to do it, as it all seems so final, but my friend told me once it was done, then I could get joy from wearing them and knowing my mother was there for the day I was wearing which ever pair.

I can sort of understand what she is on about.............I guess I am just being a big wooze about it..........................

Chicken HM curry and rice for dinner tonight.

    Have a good day

Goodintentions - I have this one in DD's bedroom which is roughly 11ft x 6ft and it has made a difference but I have it running constantly unless we're out. I put it in my room on Thursday and its nearly full today. Its making a difference and I'm considering getting another one so I can have one in my room.

WM on its second load, DD is on her 2nd episode of Dr Who of the day, and I'm trying to write my Christmas list. So far I have 1 item :rotfl::rotfl:

  • Valli - good luck with the job application - rest assured you are very much missed already!

Hugs and posivibes to those struggling with life ... such tremendous support here and as ever wise words spoken by all.

Mum moves house a week tomorrow. Didn't go this weekend as DD2 was ill on Thurs/Fri and didn't want to risk passing it on to mum. Original plan was that possibly bro-in-law would take mum down and sis and I would be there for van loading. Now it seems that it's my job on my own. Means spending the night on my own - on the 25th anniversary of my dad's death. Finding it a bit difficult to be honest.

We have that one and it runs all the time we awake and stands on the landing. During the winter I put it downstairs during the night if I need to dry clothes that don't go in the tumble dryer

((((HUGS)))) for Vanilla and Dancemum; I just wish I could make all the troubles go away.

Valli posi-vibes; but not because I want to see a Valli-free thread; I'm sure you could manage to pop by and wave once a week, at least??;)

Mr LW has been outside and given the car its weekly once-over (oil, tyres, wash-bottle, lights etc) and just told me the sidelight he thought needed a new bulb is, if fact, working.:D

I've put the BM on as we're nearly out of bread again; I need to do a Dys0n Tango, but will wait til Bonnie's been collected, otherwise I'll only have to do it twice.

I have a weird and very unpleasant pain in my left side today, on top of all the joint/muscle pains - no idea what that's all about, but Mr LW's microwaved a wheat bag for me to put on it in the hope of soothing it. I also have a lovely bout of cystitis.:( I think I'm just falling apart at the seams.:D

Oh well - onwards and upwards; I have Mr LW's mobile phone bill to enter on my spreadsheet, and toad-in-the-hole to make for dins.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
