as other posters say ask the bride - also maybe suggest (as you are one of the bridesmaids) is it really wise to buy the dresses 2 years in advance ?
ditto with 3 times but never the bride..came close but saw sense!
Anyway I never paid for any of the dresses, however did buy my own shoes (£4 in hospice shop!) and a fascinator at the last one. 2 of the 3 paid for hair and make-up but last wanted to save money so we did our own... If you are asked to pay...Do check out charity shops or pre-loved etc if the bride is not specifically choosing a bridal range dress. I must admit all of my dresses were new but two came from Debenham's and were nicer than my 'made' dress! Both were between £70-90.
Overall though its way to soon to get fittings etc! I gained and lost 3 dress sizes after very early on fittings!I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D
Trying to find a work life balance...:rotfl:0 -
If I were you OP, I would decline, politely of course, but i would decline. If you arent particularly close with them, it's slightly odd.
Most brides will pay for bridesmaids dresses, why should bridesmaids incur a huge cost for someone elses big day?
Dress aside, it is going to cost you a fortune, travel, hotels, etc...I would honestly say no, i've got a prior engagement and leave it at that. The opposite of what you know...is also true0
