Fantastic news. And great boys, not too many 14 yr old ones want to spend time with mum lol!
Mine are 20 and over now, the 23 yr old likes spending a bit of time with me (now), but the 20 yr olds no longer want toEnjoy it while it lasts, and hope it comes back again when they get older (like it has with me)

Morning All
Thanks atush, I hate feeling guilty! I think I am coming down with the cold and cough that the children have had, so it's going to be a quiet weekend!
I am attempting to shave £20 off the shopping bill every week for the next month. I know its possible, so shouldn't be too much of a chore. Going food shopping this evening- aldi then morrisons. Budget is £70 for the week.
I know loads of people on the OS boards feed families of 6 for about that amount, but ii do like my food, and prefer good quality.
Right, off to work for me! Have a good day everyone.0 -
My bill has gone right down since the boys left. Abt 80 a week now. but we eat well and have some high priced meats. And that includes wine too.0

Boys (or maybe its children in general) are so expensive to feed! Hollow legs, both of mine
Spent £70 in Aldi today and have got lots of stuff for baking and packed lunches.
Very full of cold, going to bed soon I think!0 -
Afternoon All
As of this morning, all clients have paidSo credit card has been paid off in full, bills have been paid and its a relief!
I have an awful cold, so am just spending the weekend doing things like meal planning, budget sorting, slow cook recipe hunting and writing Christmas lists!0 -
Afternoon All
Made a lovely Chicken, Potato and Bacon stew in my Slow Cooker last night, and have blended the rest into a soup.
I'll be the first to say that despite how it smells (amazing!) it looks...errm...disgusting.
However, I have made some bread in my new bread maker (purchased with my birthday money- £40) and will endeavour to dunk and eat.
Life is quietly plodding along, not really much to report. Money is tight, I am being as frugal as possible. I don't like not having to save anything.0 -

Gosh, another week gone already! It'll be Christmas before you know it
Had a good week. Work has been busy, which is good.
It's a slightly easier week ahead for me. Not working on Monday, as my son has a dental appointment in the morning and our dentist is almost an hours drive away. So he wont be at school until 12, and then I'll head to the gym.
But I'll be working on Saturday maybe, instead.
Am saving a fortune on Electricity by using my slow cooker as much as possible instead of the oven. Currently making a lamb hotpot. Lunch will be Butternut Squash and coconut soup, which I made in the SC yesterday.
Went to the butcher yesterday and stocked up on meat. I filled my freezer for £46! Some great deals were:
Packs of 24 meatballs (96% beef), BOGOF, 99p
Pack of 4 finest beef (97%) burgers, BOGOF, 99p
4 packs of mince (a total of 2KG I think), BOGOF, £7
Lamb Shanks, pack of 2 huge ones for £4.50
So, bargains!
Did a big food shop yesterday too and spent £86! Wowza, that's a lot for me! But I think that in the big scheme of things, it'll stop me doing any top up shops during the week, so hopefully i'll average out as just the same as I was spending before.0 -
That is about what I spent this week lol, it was over 80 as I bought some xmas chocolates for presents.
I make a BN squash and coconut soup too, I put in chilles and lime juice and a shot of fish sauce to make it Thai.
Good to see your business doing well overall. hope you are making (and therefore able to save) more money.0 -
Hello All
I cannot believe its been another week! I am not cleaning today, as my younger son is home from school as he is poorly. I hate letting clients down, especially as this client is my favourite! But I cant change it, my son needs me.
The Good news- I should be able to save some money this month! Only about £150, but its something!
The Bad news- I need to start my Christmas shopping, so the money I save will probably actually be spent on Christmas stuff.
I'm going to have a bath in a minute, and then do my online shopping. I don't want to spend more than £80 this week, but have a feeling I'll fail at that, as its half-term and the boys are home...which generally means they eat a LOT!0
