Morning All
MrCF, why the sore mouth? I know what you mean about getting back into a routine. The boys (I have 2 who are 14 and 10) go back to school tomorrow. As much as I'll miss them, its nice to get back into a routine. Plus, I swear I'll save money with them not eating all day when I am at work!
Today I am trying something new- Jacket Potatoes done in the slow cooker. I have heard about this, but never tried it, so todays the day! Having it with Leftover Spag Bol from yesterday.
Jo-I hope your son is in a better mood today? Its a nightmare when they are in a bad mood isn't it! Great that you have managed to save more!
I am really tired today, I was awake until 3.30amBlimmin neighbours are driving me insane! Dogs barking until 1am and then I just couldn't relax, lots on my mind etc.
So a quiet day today!0 -
Oh, and I am also making some sausage rolls for the kids packed lunch boxes.
I need to do a 'packed lunch box' food shop today. Groan!
My teenager is having a packed lunch instead of money from now on. Last year he had £2.80 a day, and that's too expensive at the moment. So they'll both get a sausage roll, crisps, fruit, cereal bar and drink each.0 -
Good evening, hope you're all well.
I wrote a post earlier but it disappeared! Grr
Hope your mouth is a bit better MrCF- toothache?
The film was amazing! Even though it was three hours long... I love Leonardo DiCaprio movies, he's done so many good ones!
Was out with my mum and sister today at Dunelm Mill and got a couple of bits for the house. Then went to b&m for a wander then to asda and then Aldi. Honestly,I'm done in now!
Got a couple more small christmas prezzies for my little boy so just added it to the stash.
Spent an arm and a leg today though as was buying things like loo roll, washing powder, cleaning stuff, softener, nappies etc as well as groceries.
Made a stirfry tonight for tea and now just sitting watching the Scotland match with husband.
How did the sausage rolls turn out? I'm sure your son will understand about the cash, especially as it'll be gor his own good in the future!
My little fella was in a better mood today, but still not very well behaved. There's a new little boy started at his childminder and within a week of him starting, my wee boy had his first time out. He's normally really well behaved in general and he's just being really disobedient, shouting NO at everything and just generally having a meltdown whenever things aren't going his way. He's 21 months. I know it's terrible but I've seen this little boy in action and he does seem to be really cheeky and 'wild'. I'm not saying it's his fault that my son is acting up, but not sure if it's linked. And if it is, not sure what to do about it.
Sorry, that was a bit of an essay.

Just want to say, I'm not trying to shove the blame on this little boy! I'm very much aware of my son's capability of being a terror! HahaCC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

Morning All
A relaxing start to the morning today. Just having my boiler serviced and then out to do some food shopping and to try and find some trainers for my oldest son.
The boys are back to school today. I do love it when they are home, but the peace and quiet this morning is lovely!
I got my PIN number through from Aqua today, so I am guessing that my CC wont be too far behind it! I am curious to know what my credit limit will be.
It goes to show though, how much my credit score has improved since I became debt free! Once upon a time I would never have been able to get a credit card! Even a credit builder one!
Jo- you have my sympathies with the child situation. I think that some children just encourage other children around them to behave badly, and it sounds like the other boy is one of those! You poor thing! Its just in time for the 'terrible two's' as well..i remember those days with mine when they were younger! Now I just have to contend with the teenage stage! Not sure which is/was worse..
MrCF, hows the mouth this morning? I hope you are feeling better.
Off to write a shopping list now, shouldn't be too big (fingers crossed).0 -
Evening All
Shopping done (£45), housework all done, boiler serviced, shoes bought, packed lunches done, phone calls made, emails replied to....me shattered!
Only working for 2 hours tomorrow9.15-11.15, then going to visit some supported housing that wants a 1 off clean, then home again to do more emails and look at finding more clients.
I need to do some baking (biscuits and cakes/muffins) and give the boys room a good scrub and declutter.
having a nice cup of tea and heading to bed in a minute0 -
Sounds like a really productive day!
Wish mine was quite as productive...
I'm just watching eastebders before drying my hair and going to bed.
£45 is good for your shopping!!two hours of work sounds great
what are your plans for drumming up business and clients?

Well done for such a productive day. Once you start it's get to get into the swing of things.
I bit my tongue the other night and it was bust open and I think it got an infection. After 2 days of hot water and salt it's all better and sorted.
Was working today. On for another 2 days before a full 13 hours overtime on Thursday woop woop. Couldn't turn it down. Also put in another few claims that I had forgotten about so hopefully should get a little extra in the old salary at the end of the month.
Some home made baking sounds nice. Wish I was talented that way.
Hope your all well.Saving for that dream holiday0 -
Good afternoon All
MrCF, glad to hear your mouth is feeling betterThat's a big lot of overtime, keep thinking of the £ to get you through, It'll be worth it on payday!
I am definitely not talented when it comes to baking, my cakes will never win any awards for 'best looking cake' but the kids like it and eat it, which is the most important thing.
Jo-My plans for drumming up business is as follows: ADVERTISE! I am thinking that the more bigger houses I get, the fewer I actually have to find. Instead of finding 2 'normal' sized houses for 3 hours a week (for example) I could just find 1 big house for 5 hours a week.
The more of those I get, the better. I am trying to think where very affluent people may shop..i am thinking vets (they always have dogs, don't they!), Mole Valley Farmers (not sure you'll have heard of this, maybe its a Cornish company?) where you get lots of things like bird feed, horse supplies etc.
Also thinking of advertising in local stables.
Long term, I would like to also get into commercial cleaning (offices etc) but not ready to do that yet, as it'll mean early morning work which is difficult as I will offer school hour work only to some staff.
Maybe once the domestic cleaning has gotten busier I'll look into expanding.
I also want to go further afield. 40mins down the road is Plymouth and I am sure that I could find more clients/staff there.
For now, I am just concentrating on getting to grips with the domestic stuff and getting my head around being an employer.
Its a lovely day here again, I wish I could sit out in the garden but the neighbours are just awful and noisy...0 -
Hi All
Blimey, its the end of the week already! That went very quickly.
The kids bunk beds and new mattresses FINALLY arrived yesterday, so I spent from 4pm-10pm putting those together with the help of my 14 yr old. It was actually quite nice to do something together and have some bonding time
Apparently they are very comfortable, so the boys say.
I need to do a big food shop this weekend. I'll be using my new CC to do that.
I am looking forward to the weekend. Got to do a trip to the recycling centre, get the car washed, do the shopping...and paint the kitchen! It STILL hasn't been done!
How is everyone else doing?0
