  • Hi WTBSE. I hope your son feels better soon. At some future point, when you are employing more people, you may not have to let a client down as someone else could stand in for you. However, I am sure your client will understand.

Good news on the savings front. I refuse to even think about Christmas until after Halloween and Bonfire Night, though it is very hard with all the shops having Christmas displays! By the time Christmas comes round, it no longer feels 'special'. At least I haven't heard the first Christmas song being blasted out yet.

Although I rarely post I do enjoy reading your diary, so keep up the good work. I am sure it will help keep you focussed on your goals. I wonder what happened to Cathy and JoJo? I do hope that they are both fine and still saving.

We had a trip down to Devon and Cornwall at the end of September. We went last year too and loved it. However, I don't think we will be going back as my husband received a Speeding fine - his first ever and he has been driving for 40 years and is a very careful driver. He went onto google maps and retraced his steps and the signage is virtually non-existent and, surprise surprise, that particular speed camera has had over 3 times the number of 'hits' than any other in Devon (Totnes). We were in a 30 zone, which they say we should have known from the lighting. However, the lights weren't on and the lamposts were obscured by overgrown trees. They obviously haven't been using the money made to improve signage and cut back foliage! I think we would have fought it in court but it seems too much trouble since Devon is a long way from Edinburgh and we have different legal systems. DS will now have to go on a Speed Awareness course costing £85 and will have a round trip of about 110 miles to Berwick on Tweed as these courses aren't available in Scotland. That seems a better option than the £100 fine and 3 points on his licence, although it will end up costing us more. He's not a fast driver at the best of times, so in future I might be quicker walking or hitching!

Hope your boys don't cost you too much next week. Have a good weekend.

    Thanks OW :)

I have normally finished the Christmas Shopping by now, but with taking over the new business I knew I'd need the money for that instead.
I will have to wait until my payments for October have been made-the clients deadline is 10th of the month- so 10th of November.
However, I have got a few stocking fillers and Christmas Eve hamper bits, as well as my younger sisters pressie.

Just signed in to Noodle to look at my credit file, and my 'score' has gone from 4/5 to 1/5! Not sure why, as it shows no late payments or defaults etc. I'm not too worried about it though, as I don't plan on needing credit any time soon. I am just wondering why really.

Need to go and stock up on more products today. There is a place in the nearest town that refills bottles and I have a 5 litre box that I want refilled...we'll see how pleased they are with that, and how much it costs!
Then I have to drive to my employees house and drop off some products for her as she has run out. Then, this evening, I want to make a start on this months invoices. They are due to be sent out on Friday next week, but if I get them all done this weekend, then I can spend time with the boys during the days.
  • Hello WTBSE. I hope your alive, well and kicking. Hopefully the quiet period means you haven't had time to update because you have been saving so much :D

I hope everything is ok with the family and that your having a little rest. Busy times approaching. :j

    Take care

    Hi Mr CF :)

Indeed, things have been busy, which is good :) Work is going well and I have just sent out my 2nd lot of invoices.
If it wasn't almost Christmas I'd have saved £150 last month and the same again this month, but alas its all going on Christmas presents!

The saving will start from January now I think...maybe...I have my MOT and Tax due in January, so we'll see!
  • Time is flying. Which is good as it's gets closer and closer to payday. I hope your clients are paying ok with no problems. Are most of them repeat clients, do you provide a discount for them if your there every week etc
Might be an idea to get more clients to hold onto you as well. Might slow down the income but it keeps your customer base stable. Just a thought.:rotfl:

Hope the little monsters are behaving. Take care.

Wow, has it really been a month since I last posted!?

News- I am making a very small profit on my business, which is great! Considering I only took over in September, I am really pleased.

Christmas is draining all of my spare money at the moment.
I am determined to get back on the wagon in January, although not sure how successful that'll be, as my MOT is due in January! We'll see, I am not too worried.

Everyone else has been very quiet, I hope you are all ok?

I put my tree up yesterday. I don't do any decorations apart from the tree and some Christmas lights around my sons bunkbeds.

The tree smells lovely :) Its starting to feel like Christmas now.
Only 3 weeks and I am off to Mums for a week, cant wait!

You doing anything nice for Christmas atush?

    Merry Christmas everyone!

Could have saved £150 this month, but spending most of that on petrol to get up to my mums for Christmas.
The serious saving starts in January, but didn't want anyone to think I had abandoned my diary!

Well I have finished decorating and done the xmas shopping. The boys esp the oldest keep saying "oh and just another Small thing" lol. But he does have a birthday in Jan so some of the things will be held back for then and the suit trousers he wants will be bought in the sales ;)

Not doing anything special for xmas, just being here at home with all 3 boys home. So grocery shopping will go back up to 150 a week lol.

I keep thinking one year we wil have xmas at home in america (I have my home in FL) but they want xmas here so I have rented my place out.
