Oh my goodness WTBSE! Has that time come around already??
Congrats! It will feel so good looking at your account and seeing your savings balance so high. Especially after a few weeks without saving
Your chilli sounds good! We were up at bil's tonight to help nephew (6) build a pirate ship for a school project. BIL made fajitas and nachos for dinner which was fab (and free!) so that was nice.
Still no more into the savings account but husband is paid overtime next week and I get paid a week on Friday so (fingers crossed) I'll be able to reach £2k by the end of the month!
And yes, I'm STILL waiting on husband chasing the payments for a couple f homers! The longer he leaves it, the harder it'll be to get the money i think. He's too laid back for his own good. That'll be another £500 when it comes.CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))
July debt total: £24,630.44 | New debt total: £18,316.34 | Total debt paid: £6,414.10 (26%)

WantToBeSE, thought you'd reach your goal to put together enough money to move house really fast
You'll be there in no time at all.

Morning All
Jo- Wow, you are doing so well with your savings! I cant wait to get to the £2k mark...hopefully not too long now, another month maybe.
April 24th is my youngest sons Birthday and he has just told me that he wants a laptop, so that's another expense to fund. I might get a reconditioned one, have a look on eBay and also look on the local Facebook selling pages as they often have ones on there.0 -
As an Englishman, I feel I should be offended.
Not all of us insist on meat every day.
You shouldn't be offended, but you know you are different from most englishmen lol. They like their meat, plain and simple. And with spuds- you should see his face if I try to serve it with rice like we eat back home lol.
AS for beans, beans on toast. Doesn't matter how many decades I live here, I'll never get into that. Kids like it OK though.
I do however make a mean welsh rarebit. That seems to make the grade with the men in my possession.0 -

Another month to get to £2k would be amazing WTBSE. Is your plan still to move house when you get to £2k? Or are you going to save a bit more first?
I'm doing not too badly at all with my saving- it might not be megabucks but it's a good start! It keeps motivated too
Added another £6 to the £ tin between today and yesterday so that's starting to add up nicely. Still a long way to go before I open the tin, but I give it a shake every day to monitor progressCC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

I think I am going to save some more before moving. I imagine it'll take a bit of time to find something suitable anyway, so there is no major hurry. If the right house comes along when I only have £2k saved, then i'll move, but if not then i'll wait. I would like to have saved some extra so that I can buy some furniture when I have moved (I want to get the boys new beds).
We'll see
I am looking forward to Friday!0 -
Do you shop at Tesco?
I bought beds 2 years ago with my tesco points- during a boost when they were worth more? They cost me zero- or you should say they cost me half the money as I could have spent the vouchers on food.
As for savings, sounds like you'll be moving soon. When will you look? Just before you get to 2K or after?0 -
Hi All,
savings day tomorrow! Work and life has been manic and I am exhausted. Have been doing some extra hours so looking forward to a few extra £ in my pay packet. Not loads extra, but every little helps!0 -
:j :j Savings Day!
So I put £700 into the savings account today, making my new total £1123.05
I also put £250 aside for our Longleat trip, so I don't have to worry about finding any spending money while we are there.
It feels good to get above the £1000 mark again, it feels safer. Savings are definitely making me feel safer.
I also have my private client on Monday, so that'll go straight into savings (£30).
On the food saving front, I have to admit that I am struggling to stay under £100. I had said that I wanted to stick at £70, but I just don't feel like I am able to get the food that I want to (lots of fresh fruit and veg, wholemeal pasta/rice etc) at that price. I will continue trying for a few weeks, but I have no problem with upping it to £100 again if needs be.
TGIF! We are having a quiet weekend at home this weekend. I will potter about and catch up on housework. Oh the joy!
How is everyone else? What are you all up to this weekend?0 -

I will start looking when I have about £2.5K I think. I imagine it'll take a while to find what I want. My ideal features are:
-3 bed house/bungalow
-accepts my cat
-accepts LHA/HB
-has a garden.
I don't mind if it take a few months to find that. In my area, 3 bed places are in high demand, so I am not sure how long it'll take.0
