Or you could be really cheeky and take a full size suitcase with your microwave in :rotfl:.
A couple of years back when Travelodges were £9 a night in the winter sale, we treated ourselves to a microwave just for that very reason :rotfl:
It has saved us a fortune"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much was in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little bit better because I was important in the life of a child."0 -
I think you are right, gallygirl. Sod it, another £60 (hopefully less though) on food wont break the budget too much.
I think I want to visit here on the Sunday, on our way home http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/stourhead/?p=1356326586849 It looks beautiful and they will be doing an Easter Egg hunt too
Last year, they did a free entry weekend around March/April time, so I am hoping that we'll get lucky and it'll fall o n our weekend this year!0 -
We stay in Premier Inns a lot on our way from Edinburgh to London and back, to visit our son. I am not a huge breakfast eater and wouldn't do justice to their good value £8.95 breakfast. (It is especially good value when son was younger as he and my husband would both go and could have a full breakfast for £8.95 as under 15s eat free when accompanied by a paying adult.) We now take Warburton Thins or Square Wraps (usually found on offer £1 for pack of 6) along with bananas to have first thing - very tasty. Sometimes in the evening, if we have had a particulary gruelling drive and feel tired and dirty, we are happy to stay in and have them with pate/rocket/crisps and a bottle of wine! Maybe not great for hungry kids but keeps us happy! We always keep flask/kitchen roll/plastic plates/cups/glasses/cutlery/tea/coffee in the cool bag for our trips just in case they are required.0

Yeah I think I'll need to take breakfast foods with us, as my kids want to eat within 5 mins of waking up
God knows how, I cant stomach anything for about 30 mins after waking up!
I think i'll just do a normal food shop before we go and take some stuff with us for breakfasts and lunches. Wont be worrying about dinners though, as gallygirl says, the point is to have a good time instead of eating pot noodles!
Things to do today:
-Write a rough budget for the MONTH! Have not done this before. When I was last paid monthly, 'budgeting' wasn't a word that I was familiar withI am going to split this up into 4 separate weeks.
-Take recycling to the recycling point. I live in a teeny tiny house and the huge recycling bin is taking up space in the kitchen.
-Clean, Dust and Hoover the lounge. Clean, dust and hoover my youngest sons room.0 -
WantToBeSE, I can't eat within about an hour of waking up either so know exactly where you're coming from with that one.
Have fun with writing the budget. I still haven't quite got my head around that word either.

Good afternoon All
Well, I haven't don't anything on my to do list...but I don't care! We went for a lovely long walk instead. It was windy and overcast, but also nice and quiet on the beach. We walked across 3 beaches, and along the tourist trail, so about and hour and a half long. I really needed it, totally blew the cobwebs away. As a result, I am feeling very refreshed
Its my home town and I would recommend it to EVERYONE who considers a holiday to Cornwall: http://www.visitbude.info/0 -

With the banana/warburtons squares tip- add a small jar of nutella (or house brand) chock spread. Mine loved banana/nutella sarnies when they were small.0

Hi All
Jo- never fear, I have certainly not lost motivationI am definitely still motivated to save save save! Just been busy with work and life stuff. Had the new windows fitted yesterday so vacated the house for the day. It was cold! But the new windows look lovely, hopefully it'll save me some money on gas bills for the remainder of the time that I am here.
Not much to report really. No more money saved- I wont be able to save anything now until 21st March.
This weekend is supposed to be nice so I am planning more walks on the beach with the sproglets. Reasonably cheap- apart from petrol. Will pack up a big picnic to take with us so that we don't buy any food.0 -
