How great lol!
I have managed to make my extra trip to the USA cost as little as poss (in the MSE way) so have booked using my avios points. I always try to use them (I have a lot) but there never seems to be seats left for the routes I use. Obv there were seats to nowheres ville lol.
edit, by great I meant the date, not the hand- ouch lol0 -
Poor you. Be sensible and rest your hand for a few days. Better to lose some pay and let it heal properly than rush back to work and have it give you bother indefinitely. That's part of what savings are for - to cushion you from the unexpected.
Hope your paramedic gets in touch!0 -
Thanks everyone. Not looking forward to phoning clients to cancel them all. I hate doing it and always worry they'll be really annoyed at me and go elsewhere for their cleaning
The nurse looked at it and said it didn't need re gluing, just to stay off work for the next 3-5 days! I cant get it wet, so not sure how I am going to have a bath let alone wash my hair...that paramedic would come in handy for that, I'm sure
Vegan chilli for dinner tonight, as we had pizza last night instead of the chilli on the meal plan. My older son has a stinking cold though, so I have packed it full of garlic.0 -
Afternoon All
I am making the most of having a few days off and have emailed out the invoices a few days early. I don't think anyone will mind, since I would have sent them out tomorrow (ready for Monday) anyway.
I am a few hundred down this month, due to my injury, staff illness and a week off at the beginning of Jan (Christmas break). Yikes.
Hopefully everything will go smoothly with the new business bank account, we'll see
The car is in the garage today having a new sump fitted, so that's another £200 gone from my account. but that should be the only outlay for a while!0 -
Oh dear a whole week off- yikes, that is where being SE is a huge pain.
Maybe you should insure your hands and feet lol?0 -
Hi all,
Sounds lovely avout your date- when is it? Where are you going?
Not so good about your hand though, hope it heals soon.
How are things?
It's snowing like crazy up here, which would be fun if I didn't slide half way to work this morning. It was horrible but at least I'm off tomorrow.
my husband got paid today with his overtime included so put another £240, so total is now £500. I get paid tomorrow too but most of the bills now come out on 1st so I'm not planning on putting much away from that. He's working again this weekend so next week so I'll hopefully be able to put the same away again. It's rotten having him work all the time but we need to take the overtime while it's going.
I also put £3.57 in my pot today so feel like I'm taking baby steps towards having a pot of savings again after moving house which wiped us out. Morning everyone
I am losing hope of ever going on this date. He didn't text me yesterday, after texting me quite a few times the day before. Maybe that's normal..i don't know, its been a long time since I have dated!
Car is done and back home with me. Really pleased that I could afford it, plus afford savings this month
I am trying to do the food shop this morning, it all depends on if I can drive. We'll see. I'm not desperate for food, but wont be able to go next week as I'm working all week and on Monday I am hoping to go and visit my friend.
But that means that I need to write a shopping list, so I'd better go and get on with it!0 -
Don't get downhearted about the date, dating is a minefield so I don't think there's any norma. Maybe just drop him a text later asking how his day has been? Be the instigator!
I've never dated really as I met my husband at 16 so maybe don't trust my advice!
I put another £100 away from my wages today which isn't a lot but at least it's something. I need to adapt to having the majority of bills coming out from my wages and trying to save from my husband's wage.
Let's see your meal plan when you're done, I'm after inspiration for next week! Chicken and ham pie for tonigtonight.CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

Wow £12? That's amazing. I don't think my Aldi spend will be too high this week because my freezer is full. Just need fresh bits and to write my meal plan!
Your meal plan looks delicious
Im having a bit of a lazy day today, just getting some housework done and will do some crafts with my son. We went sledging yesterday which was fun!CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))
