Hi Loxxee. As everyone else says, you sound so positive! Mental attitude is definitely a big contributing factor to being able to do this.
There will be low days, and it's about focusing on the big picture. You've got a plan, but be sure to plan in a few special treats. Remember that not only are you tackling your debts, but you're also trying to sort out your marriage, stop gambling, study and work!I like to make money

You're doing very well. There is no better feeling then getting to the end of the month and having money left in the bank. It's an achievement in itself.
I'm pleased to hear you're saving a little too, because those unforeseen expenses can really put a spanner in the works when you happen.
I also love getting my gifts discounted, I start shopping in January, I only buy things I think suit the person, and never full price. I buy for 26 people at £5 a head. On average all gifts are worth £15! Why spend more?
I think you're doing really well, keep up the good work xWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -

I was on my debt free journey for 7 years, I became debt free 3 years ago now. Over my journey I always enjoyed the sense of achievement I get when I save money on a gift or something budgeted. I enjoy it when I'm in my food budget, or when I make a new frugal meal we enjoy. When I have spare money, or when I've saved enough to buy something we needed.
Over and over I found these same things give you that sense of achievement and joy. But many times I've slipped, I've not cared or just forgotten to scrutinise my spending because I enjoyed it. When this happens I look at what I can do better, and I start again.
One time it wasn't just once, or a weekend. I Loved the feeling of spending money that when the guilt kicked in I spent more to feel better. I added a little to my debts, but when I realised I just picked up and dusted off and started again.
My point is, try and hold on to that feeling as much as you can, but if you slip don't ignore it, review it, move on more determined then ever. Because you'll get there, and when you do it will be worth it.
When you're debt free and living in your means, you'll still slip... Only you'll slip into savings and when it means waiting longer for the things you want... You'll kick yourself again and then get that sense of achievement again when you get back on track!
It's worth it, every second.
Every slip was just a bump on the road...
So treasure the feeling you have now, it gets better

I'm really glad it helped, I almost didn't post it!
I have similar traits, that one track mindedness... Some call it a flaw, but it'll see you to the end. I just beat myself up a lot at first, but you know I got there, and learned not to do it so much. From what I've read your personality means I fully expect you to get there... And early!
Oh, but don't forget to treat yourself once in a while too

I feel the same, I love time with my husband and the children.
But sometimes buying a little something helps. If your able to spend very little then you think about what you want and appreciate it much more!
My last treat was nail varnish! I've not bought any in 5 years!!!
It's such a silly little thing
